Well, this is the end of Star Shadows and Sophia's journey in this story.
I have to say, even as the author of this book, it was such a wild ride. I had so many ideas that I wanted to put into this book and at some point I was worried it was going to be a little too much to keep up with all of them. But first, some clarifications:
While Sophia is, in this Universe, another of the Avengers, I also wanted her to have her own story and her own way to be a superhero and what would her life outside of the Avengers looked like, which is why I included things like her brithday celebration, flashbacks of Michael here and there and pretty more this book was about her but I also wanted to put her in bit of the story and things that we didn't got to see in the actual MCU.
For starters, when she gets to meet Steve and the way she helps him process everything after he came out of the ice, I wanted her to be there because I wanted to develop a connection between them ever since the start, also I put in a few things like Steve looking at her and knowing she looks familair because he knows her parents but he doesn't know that, or the way she helps him settle into his new life.
While writing this book I searched and watched a lot of deleted scenes from the Captain America: TFA movie, or the Avengers movie, to piece together a little something to give her and Steve more of a story, which is why some details and some things about the actual MCU may be innaccurate, but let's remember this was a fanfiction project, meaning, not everything is going to be as accurate as the actual stories.
The part where she gets into the cage with Loki, i feel it was a little messy, for all the topics they atlk about and how he is just constantly offending her and telling her stuff that maybe was not as good, but I wanted to make something like the scene with Natasha and him at the cage in the helicarrier, but in Sophia's version, I hope it was not that bad.
And one of my favorite parts to write was definetely her time in Iceland, where she goes to do her own mission. Looking back at the first book and the start of this one, I messed up some details about who killed Michael, how, names, etc and it is something I will fix but later on when I edit it (because I will), in the end I hope it made sense who the villain was and I hope it was a good Villain as well, hehe.
Now, on to the author's note.
As I said, it was such a ride to write this book because I was just so, so excited to get all of my ideas out and let them flow. I have this book written and finished since Autumn last year (October 2022) and I was just in the brink of publishing it all at once, once I was done with Night Angel, but I had to stop myself and give it some time.
These are the first books I ever wrote and the first ones I've had the courage of publishing ever since I realized I wanted to be a writter. I have always been afraid of showing other people my work because I always feel it's not good enough or even well written, but while reading books in here, about Marvel, Harry Potter, Supernatural, other stories, fanfictions from Actors and stuff like that, I've realized, with other Author's notes as well, that no story is perfect on the first try and it takes time to perfect them and be and do better, it takes time to get used to knowing that you are not only writing these books for yourself anymore, but for other people to read as well, and it's okay of it is not perfectly written on the first try, if you want to write, and publish, DO IT! If you want to show people your work, DO IT!, Don't ever compare yourself and your work to others, because we are all unique human beings with different ways of expressing ourselves, different ways of writting, different imagination and ideas!
We are, each of us, a world of our own, and we, just by being here, writing a story and publishing it, it takes a lot of courage, so to my fellow writers that are here, whether it's reading, creating, writing, THANK YOU, for being an inspiration, thank you for the encouraging words at the end of the stories and thank you for creating books and worlds where we can go to when our own feels sad and blue and we just need an escape.
To all of you, wonderful readers, that have reached this note, thank you for taking the time to read this book, thank you for commenting and voting, you have no idea how much it means to me, and thank you for enjoying this as much as you did, you guys are amazing!
Writing this book brought me so much joy and I hope it brought it to you as well. Star Shadows is another baby of mine and it was so much fun to write! So, thank you, thank you, thank you! Sophia is a bad ass, and I know I left you in a small cliffhanger right there, but hey! Who said it was the end?
Sophia's journey in this book might have come to an end, but her journey is just starting.
See you soon, angels.
Thank you for everything.
Love, C!
