After yesterday, I needed to hear something good.

I needed to hear something like our team stopping someone from deforesting or preventing some nuclear testing in nature or at least that they've managed to find a new sequoia tree we could get saplings from to replant it somewhere in the central park.

I am an Environmental Activist and an Ecologist and I worked in a  lab with a couple others like me.

Biologists, Chemists, Labortirains, and Environmental Consultants are active here and we work together to sustain the green, and fight against those who greedily destroy it for gold.

I walked into the lab and I sighed before making my way to my little work desk. I sat down, turning my computer on before getting on with the research I was doing before I went to yesterday's protest.

I got a few heads turned at me when I almost mashed my fingers onto the keyboard while I pressed the keys aggressively.

"Still mad about the sequoia tree?" A curly-haired blonde asked as he made his way to me.
That's BangChan, one of our Biologists.

I sighed before turning in my rotating chair to face him. "Yes," I said with a little pout before turning back around and getting on with the research.

Chan chuckled behind me and for a moment, I smiled. His laugh was just adorable at times.

And no- I'm not saying it like that.

Chan is like an older brother to me.

"Well then, I assume you'd love to hear some good news right now?" Chan asked softly, raising an eyebrow and I stopped typing once more before turning to face him.

Please be something really amazing and not just another company installing an ant farm inside.

"Well... the team had some research and today, we learned that there's a unique deserted island in the middle of the Yellow Sea. It's got tones of sequoia trees and apparently, many rare species of plants and animals as well" Chan said.

Okay, now I am listening. Thank you Channie. You're a lifesaver. My mood went 180, back to my normal, happy, nature-loving self.

"Really?" I questioned, raising my eyebrows, intrigued. Chan smiled as he nodded before pointing at my computer.

"Search Green Gold Island," He said and I turned back to my computer to do just that. The browser took a while but then, it showed a single picture of an island in the middle of a deep lagoon.

A single picture, but I saw the tall sequoia trees, the beautiful palms, and even a lush forest! I beamed, turning to Chan.

He read my expression, already knowing that I was happy.

I turn back to the screen, smiling at the picture once more.

I raised an eyebrow, looking at the large screen that displayed what was yet to be another island to use for my oil business; well, that is what my assistant, Hyunmin had been telling me all morning.

Well, that wasn't all he talked about- he did say something about some wild birds and cats of some sort and even some rare plants and something about a cave. I didn't pay much attention.

He's currently still talking about the ecology of the island and here I am, planning to build a mansion for my family with the money I'd be getting once extract all that oil that's supposedly below all that greenery.

"Uh, sir? Are you paying attention?"

I lift my head up to look at the screen when Hyunmin spoke once more. I gave him a slightly bored look before leaning back on my chair.

"Is all this really necessary?" I asked.

Hyunmin shook his head a bit. "Not really, sir, but it's custom for me to summarize the reports we found. " He said.

I nodded a bit before letting out a soft sigh, placing my hands behind my head as I leaned on the chair, lifting my legs and placing them on the corner of the table as I closed my eyes.

"Well, that's very boring. Just get the osprey ready for tomorrow. I would like to go along with the workers to see the island a bit first" I said and opened one eye to look at him. "And please, don't bother packing camping supplies for me. There's no way I'd spend a night on a deserted island"

I say before closing my eyes once more, sighing.

Was I excited to go to the island tomorrow? oh, yes. I can't wait to find out how much oil is below the surface.

And who knows, I might just find some other hidden treasures, after all, Hyunmin did mention that people had probably visited the island only once or twice over the millennia.

Hyunmin furrowed his eyebrows a little when Minho raised his feet onto the desk. The 31-year-old older male shook his head a little, tired of how immature and unprofessional his 25-year-old younger boss sometimes acted.

"Very well sir," He said with a small nod before excusing himself from Minho's office.
