"Sir! Sir! The drone we sent returned"
Hyunmin quickly stood up from the CEO's chair, looking at the other man in a suit before giving him a small nod. He fixed his tie before walking out of the head office and followed the blonde to a large room that was used at a meeting office.
"Have you checked the footage already?" Hyunmin asked, glancing at the male as he walked with him. The freckled male shook his head a bit in response.
"No. No one has, since it had just arrived" The blonde said, and Hyunmin nodded slightly in response.
Upon reaching the meeting office, Hyunmin stopped at the door and turned to the male. "I did not see your face here before... are you new?" He asked, tilting his head curiously at the younger male.
The blonde let out a small gasp before quickly bowing. "Oh, yes, I'm an intern and I had to start coming from yesterday... I'm Lee Felix" Felix smiled, showing his upper set of crystal white teeth as he held out his hand.
Hyunmin returned a small smile before shaking the younger hand. He then turned to the door, pushing it open before walking in. Felix followed in as well and he walked ahead to the drone placed on the table.
The freckled boy took out a chip from the drone and turned to the laptop that was connected to a large screen on the wall.
"Wait-" The blonde said as he turned to face the older man. "Should I go inform the other employees? Maybe everyone would want to see it?" He asked.Hyunmin hummed, thinking to himself about the suggestion before shaking his head. "We'll inform them later. For now, let us just watch." He said, with a gentle smile.
Felix nodded in understanding before turning around and inserting the chip into the laptop. A file popped up on the screen and he clicked it, and he saw a single 7-hour-long video in it.
He clicked it, and it displayed the take-off from the company base itself and made it's way above the city, toward the vast ocean.
"Wind a few hours forward," Hyunmin said as he sat on a chair, looking at the large screen that displayed everything the laptop did.
The blonde complied, winding a few hours forward. The video then continued by showing an island at a close distance.
"Wind a few minutes" Hyunmin spoke, his eyes narrowing as he watched the video carefully.
Felix nodded and complied once more, forwarding the video to a couple of minutes. It showed the point of view of the drone as it lowered slightly to the beach. It scanned the island overhead and even flew through large sequoia trees.
A sigh left Hyunmin's lips after a while of watching. He lowered his head a bit. "They have to be there... they have to" He muttered, shaking his head slightly in frustration.
All of a sudden, the blonde who was playing the video gasped, and Hyunmin quickly lifted his head. He saw how the video was paused and the blonde had taken a step back from the laptop.
"What did you see??" Hyunmin asked quickly, standing up from the chair he sat on. Felix gave Hyunmin a silent wide-eyed look before turning around and rewinding a minute. The older male now had his full focus on the screen.
Within seconds, Hyunmin saw it too and he widened ever so slightly.
He quickly stepped forward and paused the video; right where it showed the beach where two different wreckage were washed up.
There were no signs of survivors. The boat or whatever he thought it was was completely crushed- there was no way anyone would've made it alive from whatever happened to it.
Then there was the osprey. It looked no better.
"They.... are dead" Hyunmin muttered out in a shaky breath. Felix glanced at him and then at the screen in horror."Someone must've survived" The blonde argued, shaking his head.
Hyunmin let out a sigh, looking at Felix. "Boy, Miracles like that in a situation like this don't happen," He said.
The blonde furrowed his eyebrows slightly as he heard the older male's words. He looked at the screen once more before turning around.
"I'll... tell everyone to come to the meeting hall," The freckled male said before walking toward the exit of the room. Hyunmin watched the younger leave and once he was alone, he sighed and looked at the screen.
He was about to play the video again, but then, something on the screen caught his eye. He saw how the beach stretched far ahead into the video... and he also saw what looked like a human figure walking on it, possibly in the other direction from the drone.
He furrowed his eyebrows and looked into the screen as if he was trying to make out who it was. The video was clear, so all it took for him was a single zoom to realize who it was.
"Fuck.." He muttered, tightening his fist before slamming it on the table, right beside the laptop.
He let out a small sigh, closing his eyes. He then stood straight and fixed his tie and hair before pressing the keys in the laptop.
