"But sir, please, is there really no way we could-" The woman's words were cut off as Hyunmin halted in his step and raised his hand dismissively.

He turned around, looking at her with an unreadable expression before sighing.

Silence filled the hallway they were in as she stared at the man in formal attire, frustration written all over her expression and his.

"Sir" She started once more, taking a few steps closer to him. "Please... I-I'm worried about my husband. You said you'd send a rescue team today..." She spoke in a hopeful tone as the man sighed once again before giving her an empathetic look.

"Ma'am... I'm sorry but we could not risk sending people in this weather" Hyunmin tried to reason. Even as they spoke, they could hear the heavy rain from the outside.

The woman looked away, scoffing a bit. She then turned to him, her tears visible in her eyes. "Then let the police go search for them!" Her voice came out as a plead.

Another soft sigh left the man's lips as he closed his eyes and gently massaged his temple. He then looked at the woman once more. "Ma'am, I've already told you. They took enough supplies with them to last them at least a week without any problems. Our team will go first thing tomorrow morning when the weather isn't so dangerous" He said.

The woman looked down, tightening her fists slightly. She bit her lower lip to hold in her tears. The only person she wanted by her side was her husband, and she didn't know if he was okay or not. If he was alive or not. If he was even coming back or not.

"Very well... I'm sorry" She said, looking down slightly. The man sighed softly, shaking his head a bit before doing a slight bow.

"No, forgive me. I understand how you may feel... But we assure you, we'll take full responsibility as he is an employee of our company" He said, lifting his head to give her a small reassuring smile.

The woman nodded slightly and then looked away before turning around and then walking away.

Hyunmin watched as the woman walked out of the hallway and he watched the shadow of her silhouette completely disappear out of his sight.
He heaved a sigh before turning around and walking in the opposite direction, toward where his boss's office was.

He walked in, and his eyes traveled slowly around the empty room. The large curtains were open to showcase the beautiful city view as it rained heavily. The shelves looked spotless and everything on the dark oak table was neatly arranged, unlike how it would normally be when his boss would be there.

Hyunmin walked to the desk, pulling out the rotating chair before sitting down. He turned to the window and watched the rain for a few seconds, wondering if everyone was okay or not.
