Hyeji and I hadn't ever really had a conversation before. We talked to each other sometimes- well, argued- so we don't normally say anything other than something that'd not annoy the other off a tree branch.
But the words she muttered just now; "Thank you", in a soft voice I've practically never heard from her, had me go quiet for a moment and glance at her figure that looked away from me.
I almost even smiled- but then I cringed at myself.
"Yeah well, Like I said, we're even," I said, looking away to the other side, frowning a bit.
Hyeji sighed softly turning to me and I noticed her looking, so I looked back at her for a moment before sighing and getting off the tree branch, jumping down with a thud."I- erm- don't wanna be on this tree, it's snake-infested," I said with a light shrug, turning around to meet her gaze as I kept an unreadable expression. She furrowed her eyebrows and sighed before getting off too.
She jumped down and the moment her legs hit the ground with a thud, she let out a small yelp, losing balance and falling back. It felt like the perfect moment to laugh at how clumsy she was but then I noticed that she was in some sort of pain.
I frowned a bit, stepping closer to her.
"Are you okay?" I asked curiously and the girl nodded softly before looking at her right feet. She sat on the ground, letting out a sigh before bringing her right leg closer, and taking off her sneakers. My eyes widen when I saw the tint of the sock; dark red.
Hyeji's eyes widened too and she noticed the source of the bleeding. Her heel.
There was a small piece of sharp coral pierced into her feet.
I noticed how she stared blankly at the wound for a moment before she carefully gripped the stone. She then yanked it out with one sudden pull, holding in a small whimper.
"Shit! Why would you do that!?" I said, watching how the open would bleed even more now that the object was out.
Without responding, Hyeji proceeded to take off her sock, wrapping it tight around the wound and then held her leg slightly up as she laid down, a small hiss escaping her lips.
"What are you doing?" I asked, frowning a bit.The girl looked at me, slightly annoyed, and let out a sigh before finally replying.
"Are you seriously this dumb? I'm trying to stop it from bleeding too much. Holding your wound higher than your heart would help" She said.
I nodded a bit, crossing my arms, and then scoff softly. "Hey, how would I know? I'm not a doctor!" I said, eyeing her feet for a moment before looking at her eyes.
She glared for a moment. "Neither am I," She said sassily and I rolled my eyes, turning away from her.
"Well, whatever. We need to go find some shelter before it becomes pitch black you know!" I said before turning back to look down at her. "Get up and move," I said and she glared at me for a moment.
"My feet-" She said, furrowing her eyebrows. "Carry me then" She scoffed.
I crossed my arms, raising an eyebrow at her. "Carry your heavy ass around? no w-"
"I'm not heavy, you're just not strong enough"
Okay, how rude. First, she interrupts me. Then she calls me weak!?
I may have never lifted a finger to do something for myself but I did work on my body- my private gym wasn't there to collect cobwebs.
"Is that a challenge?" I asked her, stepping closer to her, and giving her a daring look. She stared, crossing her arms over her torso.
"Yes, it is," She said back, almost mockingly.I let out a small laugh, a smirk making its way to my lips as I crouched down at her.
"Then I'll win" I whispered to her, pulling her up into my arms in bridal style.
I noticed how her eyes widen in surprise, a small squeak leaving her lips as I held her up with ease. She wasn't heavy- and now that I am holding her, I noticed that she... fits quite nicely in my arms.
'What the fuck!'I shook my head, burying that last thought 60 feet under before turning to look at her, my eyebrows furrowed.
"Now... I hope you stay quiet, 'cause I won't hesitate to drop you and wander off" I said, in an almost threatening voice. It wasn't that I would actually do that. I just felt like it'd distract me if she talked right now.And besides! Even if I did wander off, I think she'd still have a better chance at surviving here.

I did not expect him to actually lift me up, but I guess he loved winning arguments with me.
He held me quite firmly and his posture almost seemed like he was holding me with ease. As if he doesn't find me heavy at all damn, he really is strong.
As he held me, I kept one of my hands on his chest for extra support and I get slightly flustered feeling his hard muscles.
I then shook my head slightly, trying to keep my mind from going elsewhere.
He then turned his head, looking down at me, his expression quite stern.
"Now... I hope you stay quiet, 'cause I won't hesitate to drop you and wander off" He said and I blinked a little in response.
I wouldn't be surprised if he did that- ofcourse he hates me. We've always hated each other. we've always found each other annoying.
But even if I did hate him... I might as well listen to him, for now. Atleast It'd help my wound.
I looked at him, nodding softly, and then looked away from his eyes, frowning a bit.
It's not like I was going to talk much anyway. My heart was now beating weirdly to even focus on muttering words anyway.
