I chuckled a little as I stood up.

Minho's attempt to start a fire was funny; he thought he was smart by taking two smooth obsidian stones to strike up a fire, but I guess he didn't know you don't really choose obsidian to start flames.

It was a brilliant idea, but an embarrassingly dumb attempt.

I noticed Minho look at me from the ground as he stood up, crossing his arms. He looked pissed; probably because I laughed at his embarrassment. Well, you can't blame me, it really was hilarious to watch.

"Well alright, if you find it so funny, why don't you try making a fire?" He scoffed, walking back to the rock he sat on before.

I snickered again, earning a small glare.

He probably thought I couldn't do it since he couldn't.

There's no way she could strike a flame when I couldn't.

I watched her as she looked around, avoiding the same black stones I used. I furrowed my eyebrows a little.

What's the difference of using another type of stone? Does it really matter?

I then saw her pick up a crystal-like grey stone and I couldn't help but let out a laugh. "What are you gonna do with that? make jewelry?" I said and watched how she gave no shit about what I said as she walked over to the pile of dry twigs and leaves.

Okay, she's not just annoying. She's feisty too- which is just even more annoying.

I crossed my arms, watching her carefully crouch down, and began hitting the stones together. Her first attempt was the same as mine, and I couldn't help but chuckle.

Okay, I see why she laughed when I tried and failed.

Hyeji gave me a look, rolling her eyes before focusing on the stone in her palms. She let out a sigh, doing the same hitting motion swiftly a few times, and all of a sudden, a small spark lit up from the stones in her hands.

My eyes widen as she continued hitting the stones until a small flame was made on one of the leaves. She then gently blew on the fire, making it bigger, feeding it the dry twigs so that it grows brighter.

I then saw Hyeji stand up, watching the fire below her before turning to me, grinning.

I noticed how her shadow softly danced on the small cave wall behind her, how her face was lit up by the orange flame, and how her hair swayed slightly with the cold breezes that came from the outside. How... How annoying her grin looked.

I scoffed, turning away from her.

"You were just lucky," I said while looking away, having my arms crossed over my torso.

Hyeji let out a short laugh in mock response before turning around and sitting down near the fire, keeping her hands close to the flame to warm herself.

I looked at the fire, and my body was tempted to go closer to it to seek warmth. But I wasn't going to. Not as long as she was sitting there too. There was no way.

But then again, mother nature loves torturing me.

I felt a cold wind from the outside fill in the small cave we were in, and when I felt the cold breeze against my already cold skin, I shivered. I looked down at my fingertips and saw that they were slowly freezing.

I missed my room. I missed the warm bedsheets. I missed home.

I hate this.

The fire was warm and soothing and as I held my cold palms closer to it, it melted the coldness away. The warmth embraced my body instead of the cold breezes and I found comfort in it.

I closed my eyes, enjoying the heat for a moment, but then I heard footsteps come close to me.

I opened my eyes and saw that Minho had approached. He sat opposite to me, on the other side of the small flame, holding his hands at the fire.

He was probably cold too- given the fact that our clothes were soaked and hadn't dried completely, and those cruel cold winds that gushed in were also to blame for our freezing bodies.

I glanced at him for a moment. His damp hair was a bit dried now, and small messy curls formed on his forehead as his feline eyes stared at the orange and yellow flames in front of him. His pale skin reflected the golden color of the flames, like a sunset being painted on his cheeks.

"What are you looking at?" He suddenly said, darting his eyes right at mine, giving me a glare. I looked blinked a little, looking down at the fire without any response.

Minho narrowed his eyes, grumbling something before looking away from me and at the fire again, sighing right after.

I sighed too, silently.

I missed home. I wondered how Jeongin was. I wondered if anyone know about what happened. Cause I don't think I'd want to spend another night being stuck on an island with him.

It wasn't all bad, but it felt like we wouldn't ever get along. Would we?

But then again, being stuck here with his company is far better than being here all alone.

"Why are you smiling?"

The question startled me as I lifted my gaze and saw Minho looking at me, his eyebrows furrowed.  I frown back at him before shrugging a bit.

"I wasn't- I was just thinking of home," I said in response, looking away from him once more, sighing softly.

Minho blinked a little once more before looking away again.
