M E S S I A H

The sound of music waltzed throughout my car smoothly as I continued to drive home. After a long day of continuous movement and the back and fucking forth I was happy for the pause.

RING!

RING!

RING!

The sound of my ringtone sounding through the speakers of my car had a sigh leaving me as I offered a gaze down to the device to view the caller ID.

D

The name displayed had me answering the call as I settled before a stoplight, while spilling silent hopes that whatever it was could be done tomorrow.

"Yeah,"

"Hey, where you at?" He questioned me with lowly voiced sounds of the club speaking in the background of the call, leaving me to know that he was probably in the office or our private area at the club right now.

"I'm heading home," I mumbled as I continued to look at the road ahead in anticipation of a light change. "Why you asking?"

"He here,"

"Wh—," I started but stopped as I suddenly remembered the conversation we had a few days back. "Oh my cousin there?"

"Yeah, he here right now," He confirmed as he settled into the mask I offered him of 'cousin' to conceal Mr Leone's name, just in case the man would end up missing.

"How long has he been there?"

"Aitte, I'm coming to say hi," I informed him as I quickly switched my indicator on to announce the right turn I was preparing to take. The fact left me to appreciate my long wait at the stoplight instead of hating it, since if I had passed it I would have to drive all the way up to Duke street to come back down here for the turn.

"Aitte," He uttered and with that the call ended.

It was either he ain't know who we was or just didn't care, and best believe I knew it was the latter because we were well known everywhere.

Our name sung in these streets like an elder on Sunday morning at church.

He just didn't care, and it was a foolish decision on his part to steal from a hungry lion and then show up in its cage. Twenty-five thousand in product and he ain't even have the decency to hide. It's gon—

The mentally recited words by my subconscious had me taking a composing deep breath as I pulled into the parking lot of the club, before placing my car in its designated spot and getting out with a lift of my gun from its spot between my legs.

I quickly pushed my weapon in the waist of my jeans with a pull of my plain black t-shirt to cover it, as I made my way towards the entrance of the building. My eyes scanned the parking lot cautiously as I walked with the words replaying in my head with the intent of keeping me, me.
