My eyes opened slowly to begin to gradually adjust to the dark room I was in. The lack of limbs wrapped around me had me turning from my position on my side to instead lay on my back only to find the bed empty, but the light peeking from the dark curtains that were now pulled closed had me knowing it was now daytime.
Messiah probably closed them when she got up because they were closed last night when we fell asleep.
Despite the tiredness in my body that begged me to go back to sleep, I moved off of the bed, awakening small pieces of aching in my limbs that I knew were placed there by what happened last night. They were not greeted with disdain, instead they were greeted with amusement, a string of desire and glee as I searched the floor for my clothes, and for the second time since I woke up I came up empty.
What I did find though was a t-shirt lying on the edge of the bed, which I quickly pulled on and Messiah's height difference had it stopping mid thigh on me, while her scent engulfed me, leaving me feeling safe.
I'll just wear this and then come back and shower and put on the clothes I packed.
My mentally made decision was followed by me creating strides to leave the room, and the instant I did, the smell of food surrounded me to earn an acknowledging growl from my stomach. After a few steps I was out of the hall and a left turn brought me in line with the kitchen where Messiah stood in a black tank top and black sweatpants on her phone, scrolling, while she leaned against the island.
"Good morning," I greeted, and it had her lifting her gaze from the device in her hand to place it on me instead.
"I was just about to check to see if you was still alive," She teased, turning off her phone and placing it on the island as I walked towards her.
"I still wanna sleep," I told her and she chuckled as she opened her arms for me and I went willingly and happily.
"I can see that,"
"What time is it?"
"My phone right there," She mumbled as her hands that were wrapped around my waist began to run slowly and in a nulling way up and down my back.
Another reason.
I lifted my hand and with a quick double tap against the screen, I was shown the time.
3:45 P.M
"How long have you been up?"
"Since seven, I took care of the dog and did some other stuff," She uttered, and I hummed as I wrapped the arm I had used to check the time back around her as I drowned in her warmth, and scent.
"Aren't you tired?" I asked as I closed my eyes.
"I am, we can go back to bed after you eat," She said, and satisfaction and glee exploded in me at the thought that is until a reminder drifted to the front of my mind.
"I have work to do,"
"What do you got to do?" She questioned before placing a kiss to the side of my head.
"Fundraiser thing for the school, I'm in charge of basketball team sign-ups for the tournament,"
"Let me see," She requested and I internally threw a tantrum at the fact that I had to separate from her hold.
"My bag still on the couch?"
"No, it's over here I was just about to come into the room to you," She informed me while I pulled out of her hold. "I'll pass it for you,"
