M E S S I A H

The sound of blaring music traveled from within the walls of my club to the outside area to greet my ears as I made my way towards the entrance. One of the two bouncers, which stood between the entrance and the long line, caught the sight of my incoming vessel, and he immediately took a step to the side with a push against the door to hold it open in preparation for me.

"Miss," He greeted and I offered him a nod in response as I entered the building, which in return had the music increasing in volume.

The crowded place had my naturally introverted personality screaming for solitude, and I offered it just that as I began to move towards the private area that was only available to me and a selected few.

The naturally low lighting of the club had the colorful lights flashing in tune with the base from the music looking more vibrant. That along with the alcohol present at the bar and crowded dance floors created the perfect scene for anyone looking to have a good time.

Ironically the owner of the club herself, me, was not one of those people I hated the parted scene, I hated large gatherings, maybe it was because I had to be overly cautious in these situations. Then again there wasn't much a person like me could cling to in this environment, not the sweaty bodies that always seemed to find mine as I walked.

Not the women who approached me with their eyes either on my pocket or my body, not the liquor, the weed, the coke or the shift in mindset and perception that came with intaking either of them.

I hated anything that negatively altered the way I saw the world, I hated anything that pulled me away from being the best version of myself, and I hated anything that kept me from being me.

I wouldn't trust a drunk or high man with my most prized possessions or my life so why would I become one?

I began to move up the steps that would lead me to my intended destination, and it only took a few short-lived seconds before I was arriving at the entrance that was guarded by two men. There was a silent exchange that took place as they noticed my presence, which had them pulling the curtains to reveal the inside of the rather large room to me.

The room had a large black leather L-shaped couch pressed against the wall where D and Loyal sat, and a glass coffee table before it with coasters. The lighting in the room was much brighter than the main area of the club, and that fact helped the usage of the pool table and private bar on the other side of the room.

My arrival to the sitting area had Loyal standing, and he offered me a respectful nod that I received with a subtle one before he walked past me to exit the space.

"Thought you weren't gonna show until after," D stated with an outstretched hand that I accepted to dab him up before moving to take a seat next to him.

"Gotta head to the supermarket too before it closes, so I decided to just make one trip," I explained since we both knew I usually arrived to be briefed after the crowd and excitement had disappeared.

"I get it,"

"We good on that?" I asked him with a motion towards the door that was an elaborated reference to the thing with Loyal.

"Yeah, we good," He expressed as he lifted his drink off the counter to take a small sip before resting it on his thigh and returning his orbs to me. "You see Peanut out there?"

"No," I replied before releasing a chuckle. "But he at the bar right?"

"Yeah, whispering in some girl's ear,"

"Peanut always chasing behind some girl,"

"Pussy gon be the death of him," D commented while lifting his drink to take another sip. "You want me to pour you one?"
