With a press of my index finger against the button the bell rang, leaving me to simply wait for an answer as I stood there under the beautiful shining sun. The day's breeze had the black buttoned-down I wore open flowing around me in a calm manner, and I accepted the caress of it on my lower arm that was left exposed by my folded sleeves.

The door suddenly opened before me, and there stood that familiar face, Grace, looking as beautiful as ever as she flashed me a smile.

"Hey," She directed while stepping back, allowing me to freely enter her home. "I just saw your missed call, my phone was on the charger in the room,"

"I was calling to ask what we was gon be doing," I revealed, closing the door behind me while my eyes ran over her without any intent to wait for her to turn to look. I didn't mind her seeing me looking, and I could tell she didn't mind me looking so there wasn't really any need for modest discretion.

I took in just how good she looked in the gray sweatpants she wore and sported with a white shirt, her usual gold chain and her braids that flowed around her.

Only she could make some sweats look this good.

"What do you mean?" She asked, resulting in my gaze shifting back up to meet hers as I began to remove my black sneakers.

"We not going out?"

"No, we spending the day inside," She replied with a chuckle as if my mere thought that we would be leaving the house was the funniest thing she had ever heard.

"You forreal right now?"

"Yes," She confirmed as I used my feet to neatly situate my shoes to the side while she turned to walk away, leaving me to trail behind once I was done.

"You don't want me to take y'all somewhere?" I asked once more, and she shook her head no as she walked into the kitchen, but I stopped walking as I arrived at the island to send a look into the living room where I expected him to be. "Where is he?"

"He went to put his school books up," She said and I nodded more to myself while turning to look at her to find her walking back towards me with a water in hand. "You know you can go sit down right? I don't why you standing around like you've never been here before,"

"I know," I told her, once again trailing behind her as she moved over to the couch and she giggled as we sat down, but it was the type of giggle that fueled curiosity because you could tell there was something she found amusing that you missed. "What?"

"You following me around," She pointed out with a miniature grin on her face as she placed the water on her lap.

"You got a problem with that?" I asked as I turned on the couch to face her while moving my arm to rest on the back of the couch behind her.

"No, I just found it funny," She began and I leaned in a little closer as she spoke. "And cute,"

"You think I'm cute?" I asked softly as I leaned in a bit more, and she made no move to pull away as she gazed down to my lips. "Come here,"

"Don't do too much," She told me before moving into me and I took her lips with mine for a slow kiss that only lasted a few short-lived seconds, but I could tell she felt it as much as I did. Kissing her always felt calming and deep, like listening to music at night with nothing but a candle lit, and I wondered if that feeling was fueled by just her or maybe the fact that my attraction for her went past the physical. It could be
