M E S S I A H
The sound of the rushing water whispered around me as I continued to sit in the space of my car in anticipation for Grace. We had originally planned for me to pick up Grace on my way here, but things came up on her end and she didn't want me to sit waiting even though I had no problem doing so, but she did. So instead I offered to send a car to pick her up which she accepted.
The sound of an approaching vehicle had me gazing up into my rearview mirror to see one of my company's cars. The sight had a sigh leaving me as I quickly turned off my car with an open of my door to exit the vehicle, and the second I did the door was closed behind and the vehicle was locked.
My eyes met the sight of Grace exiting the company car with a smile on her face as I moved to stand at the back of my car. Her body turned in my direction as the front window for the car she exited went down to reveal my driver, who sent me a greeting hand lift that I returned with a small smile before he drove off.
My gaze traveled back to Grace to take in her vessel in entirety from her braids that were now in a high ponytail, to her yellow sundress that flowed down to her feet that peeked from under the cloth with each step she took to reveal her white painted toes in her brown sandals.
"Hey," I greeted as she arrived before me, and she reciprocated the word with a transfer of her black purse from her right to her left hand.
"Were you waiting long?"
"No," I lied since I was waiting long, but the fault was on me since she advised me to simply do me until the rescheduled time came around.
"So what are we doing?" She asked and I simply smiled while motioning with my head for her to walk with me. "Not telling me?"
"We almost there," I expressed honestly, as I shook my keys in hand while we walked.
"You really took me saying I liked water to heart," She pointed out amusedly, and I chuckled at the fact while turning my head to gaze at her. "Can I guess what we're doing?"
"Yeah, you can,"
"Dinner?" She questioned as I removed my gaze from her.
"No," I replied with a place of my free hand at the small of her back as we began to make our way down the steps that connected the parking lot to the sand below.
"Are we actually going swimming?"
"No,"
"I give up then," She stated as our feet greeted the sand and I laughed at the fact.
"You barely got three guesses in,"
"And?" She asked, laughing as well, as I shifted my eyes onto her for a glance.
"I'll tell you,"
"Thank you," She affirmed as the sound of the water moving continued to speak below our conversation.
"You see them jet skis out there?" I questioned with a point of my hand towards the water.
"That's what we're doing?"
"Yeah," I confirmed, which had our eyes meeting as we both turned our heads to look at each other.
"Why didn't you tell me? I'm not dressed to go in the water and I didn't even walk with a change of clot—,"
"Don't worry I got you," I interrupted, which had a subtle frown slipping onto her face. "I have a wet suit in the changing room, sun screen, and everything else you gon probably need,"
"Prepared," She uttered while removing her gaze from mine, and I snickered. "It's really empty here,"
"It's a private beach,"
