The sound of laughter skated throughout my house as my doorbell rang, and it had me pulling myself from my group of friends and the much needed catch-up between us.

"It's probably Denise," Abby pointed out, and I hummed in agreement as I walked towards the door, knowing she was one of the people I asked to help me out today, but upon pulling it open I was greeted with a delivery man instead of my usually always late friend.

"Good day," The man before me greeted.

"Good day,"

"I have a delivery here for a Ms Grace Conley,"

"That's me but I didn't order anything," I told him in a confused manner before a thought popped into my head. "Hold on,"

He nodded at my request as I turned, moving as close to the living room as I could while still remaining at the door.

"Did any of you order anything?" I asked since they had been talking about ordering food over here earlier after I told them about my lack of groceries.

"No," Abby answered and the others released mirrored responses which had my confusion returning as I went back to the door.

Imma ask him who ordered these because I know I don't have nothing coming in.

"Uhm, do y—" I started to ask, but stopped as I saw a bouquet of flowers that answered it all.

Messiah, of course.

"Where do I sign?" I asked instead with a grin at the realization that it was Messiah. I should've known she was going to when she asked me if I bought groceries yet when she came to collect the food she left.

"There is no signing on your part, someone already signed for it I just have to get a picture of you with the stuff to complete the transaction,"

"Okay I understand," I told him as he handed me the flowers and I took it awaiting the act of him taking the picture but instead he began to make a move down my driveway.

"I'll just get the rest and be right back," He told me and I frowned wondering how many bouquets of flowers she got me, but the thought died as I saw him removing bags from the open trunk of the car he drove.

"What's in the bags?" I asked, wanting clarification for the assumption I had.

"Groceries," He shouted in my direction, and my grin returned as a warm feeling roamed throughout me at the fact.

"Imma put these inside and be right back," I told him and after earning a words of agreement from him, I moved inside and placed the flowers on the kitchen island in preparation to bring the bag inside.

"Who got you flowers?" Michelle called out from the living room, being the first one to spot shit as usual.

"Can y'all come help me with these bags?" I asked, ignoring the question as I moved back to the entrance of my home with footsteps now behind me, and I saw the man placing down some bags.

"I got one more trip," He told me as I gazed down at the numerous bags in front of the door.

"Groceries," Abby said more to herself as she moved to grab a bag for each hand. "I thought you said you were going to get them tomorrow,"

"I was," I told her as Michelle and Tasha grabbed some as well, but they did two to each hand instead, just in time for the man to return with another two bags.

"This is the last of it," He announced taking a quick pick before we said friendly goodbyes that led to me and my friends bringing the remaining bags inside.

"Did you get cheetos?" Tasha asked as she began searching through a bag that had chips peeking out the top.

"I don't know,"

"How you don't know?"

"I ain't get them," I revealed, slightly distracted as I mentally counted off how many bags of food Messiah had bought.

"Then who did?" She asked, pausing her search which had the ruffling of plastic pausing to make way for the intrigue and confusion sitting in her voice.

"The person I'm with,"

"The person you with?" Michelle repeated, as I felt all their eyes on me, and I looked up from the bags to meet their gazes head on.

"Yes,"

"You with somebody?" Abby inquired with raised eyebrows.

"Yeah," I answered confidently, at this point I had too many reasons not to be afraid to claim her.

"And you ain't tell us?" Tasha pointed out disapprovingly.

"Because it ain't come up,"

"Girl," Tasha started while resuming her search through the bag for cheetos. "We been here all day you could've made it come up,"

"What's her instagram?" Michelle asked while reaching into her pocket for her phone and I smiled.

"She doesn't have one," I said in slightly breathy manner.

"So you wanna be secretive?"

"No, I'm being forreal," I told her honestly, Messiah wasn't one for social media.

"What kind of ghost you dating?" Tasha teased as she grabbed another bag.

"She just isn't into social media," I defended amusedly.

"Well she must really like you to be buying you groceries in times like this," Abby pointed out as she looked into the bag before her.

"And she must got money cause I see two cartons of eggs in that bag over there," Tasha voiced, finally finding a bag of cheetos. "How long y'all been dating?"

"A couple months," I revealed after doing a quick count in my head even though it didn't feel like it.

"And you ain't tell us about her?"

"We just been real private," I answered honestly as I allowed their interrogation.

"What's her name?"

"Messiah,"

"Messiah, that's unique," Abby pointed out with a small smile. "She the only one you dating?"

"Not dating, I'm with her and yes she is the only one," I clarified and that had Abby's smile widening since she had been waiting for me to find somebody and settle down.

"So when can we meet her?"

"Ion know," I answered since I wasn't even sure if Messiah would be up for that, at least not yet, but maybe—

"You better set something up cause it ain't right for you to be dating someone for months that we don't know about her," Michelle voiced. "Do your mom know her?"

"No,"

"Okay, at least we ain't only ones," Michelle mumbled but I could hear the amusement in her voice that had me grinning.

"Just help me unpack please,"
