M E S S I A H
My mind began its reckless descent into the memories centered around my date with Grace the other night, and I allowed it, needing a good thought after the day I had.
A good thought.
I had been bombarded with the draining weight of situations all day, from battling with D's ego to walking on the thin line of my remaining patience. This silence that I was embraced by as I continued to drive home was well-needed and deserved, but that again it left me to be consumed by my own mind which was something I never usually ran from.
I mean I wasn't running now, I was just standing on fragile feet as I gazed at my thoughts, a good thought, of a familiar face, Grace. I was scared of the reality. I mean I just wasn't used to it. It had been a long ass time since someone was on my mind like this, since someone who wasn't myself, my family and business caressed the walls of mind.
A long ass time.
As weird as it was though, it was accepted since it was nice as it was scary and uncomfortable. I wasn't that surprised by the fact since I was someone who found pleasure in vulnerability and newness, forced or not, planned or unplanned, it revealed a lot for me each and every time.
What this was revealing was the fact that I actually liked Grace, as foreign as it is, I actually liked her. How much? I wasn't sure, and I wouldn't be until my intuition and cautious nature created enough space between them so I could be blessed with needed clarity.
RING
Who the fuck was this now.
A sigh traveled from my lips as I sent a glance over to the illuminated screen of my phone on my front passenger seat.
Grace
Whatever frustration the sound of my ringing phone had caused, quickly disappear at the sight of her name to be replaced by a miniature grin that had me removing a hand from my steering wheel, to tap the icon that had the call connecting.
"Hey," I greeted as I returned my hand to the wheel. "What's up?"
"Hey, do you want to come over?" She asked after a breath, and I listened to the sound of her voice spraying from the speakers of my car before pulling my brows together for a frown.
"Uhm," I started while sending a glance to the time displayed on the dashboard. I mean I was used to her calling late sometimes since the work she took home usually left her awake at some hours most would be asleep at, but her asking me to come over never happens. "Now?"
"Yeah," She confirmed, and her response had confusion greeting my already present surprise as I sent another gaze to the displayed time.
11:05 P.M
I never even went inside of her home during the daytime—and we been on a few dates, and now...
Shit wasn't adding up and the cautious side of me along with the parts of me that craved affection battled for an answer. Sex.
Set up?
Is she tryna do sumn or set me up, because I didn't plan on being taken out like this.
"What?" I asked mindlessly after realizing that the silence had begun to linger.
"Yes, right now,"
"Do you see the time?"
"Yeah," She confirmed. "Are you busy or already in bed?"
"No, I'm not,"
"Tired?"
