The Broken Child (Lumity)

Chapter 5

Luz's POV:

I woke up feeling a warm sensation on top of me. I opened my eyes to see a beautiful green flock of hair on my chest

At first I thought I was outside and it was a bush or some weird green animal, but then I realized it was Amity. She had her head on my chest, her arms around my stomach while mine were around her waist and our legs were tangled

I blushed at the contact and glanced at the clock

7:30. 2 hours until school starts

I wanted to wake up Amity, but I was so comfortable. This was the most physical contact I had ever gotten and given in years, but I enjoyed it

Instead I closed my eyes for a few moments and relaxed in Amity's arms

A few minutes later Amity woke up, yawning as she did so

"Luz. I know you're awake. You're breathing is quicker and you're not quietly snoring like you usually do" She stated

I opened one eye "Do you watch me in my sleep or something?"

"No, but I'm quick to memorize things. And you fell asleep first, so I learnt"

I was about to say something else before Amity realized the position we were in and untangled herself from me

"I'm so sorry. I didn't realize-" she started

"Hey, calm down. I was oddly comfortable. Plus that was the most physical contact I had in years and it was weirdly nice" I said

I bright red blush covered her face before she looked away
"Whatever Noceda. Let's just get ready for school"

"Your wish is my command" I mock bowed her and exited the room, lightly chuckling as I did so and closing the door behind me, making my way towards my room

I got ready, wearing my usual outfit and packed all my books away then waited by the door for Amity

A few moments later she came out, wearing the same usual outfit as well

I opened the door for her the walked out behind her, making sure to lock the door

We got to the school, seeing Willow and Boscha talking to Gus

"Hey guys! How's life?" I greeted

"Oh hey, Luz! You're in a good mood today" Willow pointed out

"Yeah, it's nice seeing you like this" Gus added

"Really? Well I'll try be like this more often" truthfully, it was easier to be happy and cheerful, but I hid that part of me a long time ago, thinking that was why I always got bullied

"Well anyway, what were you guys talking about?" Amity asked from behind me

"Oh hey, Amity! We were talking about what happened to Rextus yesterday. He was really beaten up. So was his squad, but still not as much as him. What surprised me was the fact that he was  beaten so easily. He's the best fist combat fighter at Hexide" Boscha explained as Willow and I both rubbed our necks in sync

"Willow? Luz? Why do you two looks so nervous?" Then she realised "wait... Where did you two go yesterday?"

"Uh... Homework?" I made up

She glared at me "you absolutely hate homework. Stop lying. Plus, you wouldn't come back covered in blood. You two were involved with Rextus weren't you?"

"Okay fine, Willow and I beat up him and his gang" I admitted

"Wait, why? Did he do something to you?"
