Chapter 16

Luz's POV:

I sat next to Amity on the hard stone bench. She was still unconscious, and so was Edric, but Emira had woken up already

"You worried about her too?" Emira said from behind me as I nodded

She sighed "we all are. But there's nothing much we can do. All we can do for now is wait"

We heard a very loud snore behind us, and we thought it was a demon before we realized it was Edric

I nodded again, ignoring the loud snore and making my way upstairs for the meeting, helping Emira up the stairs as well since she had an injured leg

She sat on the chair as everyone else either stood or sat on the floor

"Well, now that everyone's here- and glad you're awake, Emira- I have devised a plan" Zira announced as everyone leaned in to hear better

"I need three capable people to go scout around the town. The suits should provide invisibility to all mortal eyes, but not robotic, so avoid camera's and Odalia's ship. I'm going to come with on that trip, but I'll still need three more. Any volunteers?"

"I'll go" Willow volunteered

"Yeah, me too" I said

It was silent for a bit before Boscha spoke up

"Okay fine, I'll go"

"Alright, now that that's settled, we leave in 10 minutes. Prepare yourselves" Zira said as they sat back down on a stone chair

I went over to my chest that was under my bed and grabbed my suit, putting it on and heading to the main entrance which was still barricaded up with stone

I saw the others waiting for me there already. Matt walked up to the entrance and drew a spell circle, lowering the stone wall so we could leave

"Good luck" he said as we all nodded

I was the first one out, then Willow, then Zira, then Boscha

Zira led the way down the tunnel as we soon approached a thick wall of vines

"Willow? You know what to do" Zira said

Willow stepped forward and drew a large spell circle then pushed her arm through, making the plants split in half into a small path that could fit one person at a time

We all walked through the path, Willow leaving last so she could seal up the path. We arrived in a big market, too busy for anyone to notice us

"Switch on your invisibility now" Zira said, turning invisible themselves. We did the same, and we were able to see each other through the thermal sensors in our suits

We made our way through the crowd, making sure not to bump into anyone and raise suspension. I saw a guy that looked a lot like Rextus, so I purposely made sure to trip them

"You alright there, Ezrynne?" Their friend asked

"Yeah, I'm fine. I think I just tripped over my feet, heh" They said with a genuine smile on their face

Whoever this person was, they seemed way better than Rextus. Maybe I shouldn't have tripped him

"Luz! Hurry up!" I heard Willow say over the mic in my mask

"On my way" I whispered and moved through the crowd once more

"Finally, your here" Zira said as I rolled my eyes "Listen, we saw a few abominations enter the company over there. I need everyone to activate climbing mode to climb to wall so we can get onto the roof"
