Your night wasn't too bad despite it being your first time ever in such a large city, you were lucky enough to find someone willing to rent out a place for you when you were out with Lumine yesterday. You were surprised to have a restless night and not wake up in cold sweat. Normally you would have awful nightmares about your past experiences, but it wasn't all too common to happen every night. You got out of your bed and stretched and thanked the archons you haven't had a nightmare in a week. You splashed water on your face as you fixed your hair a bit, you had quite the agenda today once again. Lumine had bugged you about the adventurers guild so you sadly agreed to it last night, but you knew it was good to keep yourself in shape.
You fixed your boots and made sure all the latches on your armor was held on tightly before heading out to meet Lumine. Walking out by yourself in the city was something you really had to get used to, especially being alone. You were either greeted by warm smiles, which you returned, or cold glares which you never reacted to. You were used to the icy glares and just shrugged it off, but you always felt how much they would burn the back of your head. You tried to pay no mind to it as you ascended the stairs up to Good Hunter, watching a drowsy Lumine watch Paimon chow down on breakfast.
"Good morning." She smiled once she heard the chair move, giving you a half awake smile.
"Morning, I'm guessing you slept like a rock?" You leaned back, chuckling at Paimon who gave you a small wave as she worked her way to finish her food.
She laughed a bit. "It's been a good bit since I've slept on a bed since camping out and traveling all over the place. Its pretty refreshing."
Oh yeah, you forgot she's been all over the place because of commissions from the adventurers guild. That's the main reason she wanted you to join the guild in the first place, you've traveled quite a bit on your trip to Mondsadt and have a knack for fights. Plus the pay is good, and you have to keep rent up somehow, so why not join?
"Oh yeah! Have you made up your mind about joining the guild?" Paimon chirped, seemingly finished with her food.
"I'll join, it works out well for me in the end anyway. Plus it won't hurt anyone." You shrugged.
"That's great because I already signed you up." Lumine smiled, and you swear you could have burned holes in her skull. It looks like she's taking you down with her. "We have commissions today anyway, lets get them done first."
"Commissions?" You ask as you're once again being dragged by the wrist by Lumine.
"Yeah commissions! Every adventurer takes up commissions posted by people around the city. Once we complete a commission, we get mora so we can survive." She drags you past the city gates and into the wilderness. You only wonder how this will play out.
The commissions weren't as hard as you thought they would be. You and Lumine cleared out a hilichurl camp and escorted a balloon to a merchant, which tested your patience. While walking with the balloon, Paimon almost got hit by a hilichurl which you admit was pretty funny. You weren't aware about how many hilichurls there was around Mondstadt, or at least the side past Windrise. Most of your time you stayed near Dragonspine and the more wooded area, not venturing past Windrise often. You and Lumine walked through the forest on your way to the next commission, and you listened as she told the story that she ran into a dragon and a bard when she first arrived here. She made a promise to you to find Venti, the name of the bard she told you of, and take you to meet him. You agreed as Paimon threw a small fit about this "tone-deaf bard". You shake your head as you continue with your trip.
