You couldn't help but feel as if your body was on fire for the next few days after what the hell happened between you and Diluc. Keeping such a secret from most prying ears in Mondstadt made your body buzz in such a way that you got your commissions done faster than normal, even picking up more to ride the high you were feeling right now. It was no secret to Lisa about what happened that night, as somehow she knew everything without leaving her rather slow library. You actually started to go to afternoon tea with her and just chatting about whatever came to mind, her carefree personality bounced off well with your rather brash personality. Often you both would spend hours at a time talking about the current events in Mondstadt and not sugar coating your thoughts even if it was harsh. You started to get into a rhythm of things and could truly feel free from your past, even if it was catching up with you. You knew you couldn't hide forever and for one day you had to face whatever the Shongun threw at you, but you took things one at a time slowly building up your strength for when it came to that.
And Diluc? You got to steal a few moments with him whenever you could. It was hard with his packed schedule, your physically demanding job, and hiding from the eyes and ears from most folk. You kept things low even if something was brewing between you, setting a slow pace and having a light chat whenever under the cover of the night. He had his fair share of secrets of his own and so did you, respecting each others privacy and the burden you both carried. He was gentle with you making sure you never felt uneasy in his presence or hurt by anything he said to you, making note of what hurts you and what doesn't. For the nights he couldn't be with you, he left some sort of small trinket for you at a tree you both agreed meeting at in Whispering Woods. It was generally out of sight from everyone but you still made note to only visit when the sun was only starting to rise or when it full set. He left flowers, a dish he made for you, a few stones you could give to the blacksmith to aid you, or even a note at times. All of which you thought was adorable.
The pace of Mondstadt was something you enjoyed, you even went out the way with building friendships with the people there. Mona lived closed to you and you would visit a lot, learning small bits of astrology and taking her out for a meal when you knew she had no mora. Different people from the guild would also join you and Mona at times for whenever you went out to eat, the most interesting you met was a blonde girl named Fischl. She spoke in a rather weird way, but it was still fun to try and decipher what she was saying most of the time. You learned that she was really good at investigations and that's what she mostly did, she even told you of the time she and Mona worked together with Lumine to investigate meteorites that would put people into a deep slumber. The three of you got along well and Fischl even called you a friend. Or at least that's what the rough translation was to be.
"And I, Prinzessin der Veruteilung, make my royal decree to be-"
"Lumine?!" Mona got up from her seat, cutting off Fischl and turning your attention to the young girl in white carrying a hurt adventurer. You and Fischl got up and ran after Mona who sprinted to meet Lumine by the front gate. "What happened? How did you find them and how did they get hurt?"
"I'll explain in a bit, you all can come with me when I explain the whole situation with Master Jean." Her voice was cold as if she was rightfully pissed off, taking the adventurer into the guild to seek medical attention as the three if you exchanged looks with one another. Something deep inside of you stirred at the uneasy atmosphere, as many adventures and knights came back into the city from whatever they were doing. When you turned your head to see a familiar red headed man you knew something was about to go down. Lumine reemerged from the guild with Paimon close by, joining your group and Diluc while following her silently. Hell, even Kaeya joined your heard without a single glare from Diluc.
The silence was aching, you wanted someone to speak to break the ice. From the way Lumine was storming to the head quarters and Amber was heading in herself filled you with an emotion you never wished to feel again. It was a familiar feeling from when you escaped from Inazuma, and you wanted to scream as loud as your lungs would let you. The atmosphere was tense when you walked though the doors and turned to Jean's office, the pressure was building inside of you as you knew questions will be hurled at you. When Lumine opened the door and let everyone in, a worried Lisa shot you a look that made you realize this was something you were never going to like. Barbara and even a new sister had joined you for this seemingly rushed meeting that had everyone on their toes as you all took different places in the room, you naturally taking the darkest corner in the room.
