You didn't realize just how tired you were until you were finally walking up to the doors of the winery. Night had already fallen on your walk there, many of the workers would already be in their homes for the night, though the maids didn't go home for a bit.
Too tired to knock, you simply pushed open the door while rubbing one of your eyes softly. You closed the door behind you, then turning your attention to the people in the main room. Two maids stood in the corner with a surprised look on their face upon seeing you, if you remembered correctly their names were Hillie and Moco. You then turned to the sound of clicking heels and the maid that approached you, who you knew to be Adeline.
"Welcome back, Master Diluc will be returning shortly. Is there anything I can get you?" She smiled sweetly, the head housemaid had nerves of steel and had never flinched upon meeting you for the first time.
"I'm okay for now, I'll just be heading up to the spare room." You yawned, just wanting to call it a night.
"Very well, please let us know if you need anything." She curtsied, moving out of the way as you walked up the stairs.
You trailed past Diluc's room knowing that it hadn't been touched in days. Though he never showed it, he'd worry for days on end when something happened to the people he cared about. It wasn't just you, it also included the people who you interacted with daily. He had a big heart he hid most of the time, you smiled to yourself softly as you were the only one to see the heart he had.
You pushed open the first door after Diluc's room, quickly shutting the door and sighing loudly. You took out the vile you had in your pocket and stared at it for a bit longer. You walked over to the dresser that was in front of the bed and set it down softly, turning to shed all the constricting and heavy items that weighed you down.
You stretched your arms to rid it of its soreness, letting it drop once a dull feeling replaced it. You heard the familiar clink of metal on wood as you placed all your armor in a small pile, kicking off your boots next to them too. You sighed softly and walked towards the bathroom, feeling 10 times lighter than you once did.
The soft light that radiated from the bathroom eased your stressed senses, quickly pulling off any clothes and running a bath to wash off your stresses. It had been awhile since you had a good hard look at yourself in the mirror, quickly counting the new scars that littered your body. You watched your muscles flex with each movement you made, studying how your scars were pushed and pulled with each movement.
Sometimes you wondered how you'd adjust to wearing other clothes other than your normal attire, anything new to wear had you self conscious about your scars.
You shook your head and rid yourself of that thought, slipping into the now warm bath. Worries melted away with each passing second, washing the dirt that collected on your skin. There was nothing like a calming bath to make you have no worries in the world.
You sunk lower into the bath, basking in its warmth. You thought about how Lumine would be traveling to Inazuma soon, and how you might had to fight for your life to make your freedom your eternity. Your ideals of eternity was different from the Shogun's, you wanted to be understood by others and you would go back home to make sure that no one else would take away your freedom.
Freedom is your eternity. Diluc is your eternity.
You sat up a bit, weary to not fully submerge yourself into the water. Looking past the window and taking your best guess, Diluc would be back soon. You couldn't help but wonder what he would say about you returning so silently, not giving him any warnings before hand. You would go out of your way to go and meet him by the door, but your lack of sleep was well caught up to you.
