War changes people.
You were the ones that was changed.
The five steps you took forward from leaving Inazuma, you were now ten steps back. You always entered the battle field with gaze to kill, yielding no mercy that came to your foes. Day and night you became a machine, slowly loosing touch with your humanity.
In the time of war, all that was left was a machine to carry out deadly orders.
Perhaps you were no different from those blindly following the Raider Shogun's will. Perhaps the blood and death you seen has hardened your once warm heart all over again.
Whatever it may be, you had a job to finish. A chapter to close.
You spent countless nights keeping yourself awake, haunting dreams knocking on your conscious every time you slept. You've reverted back to someone you never considered to be human. Someone who wasn't worthy of feeling.
You had returned to your old way of living, constantly on edge and pushing your body until it broke. Even the resistance that housed you grew weary of your physical and mental state.
"The Shogun's troops are closing in on us!"
You didn't react to the cry, you only kept pressing forward with gearing yourself up. Your armor was well dented and stained with blood thanks to the fighting, but all that counted was that it was still in working order.
"Wait!" A voice cried from behind you.
"General Gorou, what's the issue?" You turned to him, straightening out your posture.
"Everyone has been thinking lately, you should take a break from fighting and-"
"With all due respect sir, I'm still able to walk and fight, so I'm fighting in this battle." You snapped, visibly agitated.
You walked past the general to join the growing crowd that's geared up and ready to fight. After being silent for a few moments to be caught up with where they were approaching by the gorge, you took it upon yourself to scout out a position to take them from the side.
"Wait Mors!" A young-ish soldier called you to you.
"What's the issue?" You turned to him, crossing your arms.
"Word has it they're sweeping through the sidelines and have the advantage there, and knowing how you attack it may be better to join the frontlines."
You silently rolled your eyes, sighing and regrouping with the soldiers out to go on the frontline. You managed to cut your way to the very front with ease, a few questions rising from the men behind you.
Gorou joined your side not too long after you emerged from the front. He shot you a worried look before rallying the troops onto the frontlines.
You remained cold when the others were firing up for the fight. You've become too used to death and fighting. You've lost count of the days that's gone by fighting, all that matters was how large your body count has gotten.
As you head into battle, your body count was around 78.
-
The smell of rotting bodies was something you could never get over.
The battle for you could not have gotten any worse, as the main goal was to capture you and you only.
Now you awaited your sentencing in the jail of Inazuma City.
They took extreme caution with you, chaining you up and feeding you minimal food. Their argument? You weren't fully human.
You couldn't keep track of the days and nights that passed while waiting to be taken above. From what you were conscious to hear, the Shogun would be the one to sentence you.
