Since meeting Kazuha two weeks ago, you often found yourself standing on the shore. Today was windy, dark storm clouds rolling in from the vast ocean.

You made your choice. Now you wait for someone to pick you up to take you along to Beidou's ship.

The violent winds could have whistled across the metal you wore, fully geared to fight once more. You wouldn't be able to feel the winds of Mondstadt for sometime.

And you wouldn't be able to hear the familiar crunch of someone's boots.

The sound of Diluc panting made you turn to him, the wind now crashing into your back. He was here before you, hands on his knees as you kept a cold gaze on him.

"You cant leave like this." He panted.

Your heart throbbed at the choice you made. Both paths would be painful regardless what you chose, but seeing Diluc in such a distressed state was doing numbers on you.

"I thought you wouldn't leave my side!" He yelled. "You told me everything and now here you are going across the ocean away from me!"

"My choice wasn't easy-"

"Did you even consider how I felt?"

You stared at him once more, his eyes filled with pain and anger, a confused firestorm that kept blazing. You had a horrible feeling it would come to this.

"I did, and I wouldn't be able to hold my ground next to you if I didn't fight back." You sighed, walking over to a crouched down Diluc. "If I don't do this, I may never be able to find the closure I've been searching for."

You reached for his hand, pulling him up and close to you. Since he was taller than you, you were able to caress his face as the rain started to trickle.

He also shed silent tears.

"You know, we first saw each other in this weather." You spoke softly. "I'll be back sooner than you know it, and if you ever miss me just find me within the storms that roll by."

He dug his face more into your hand, clutching it as if he was dying.

"I'll wait for you. Just promise that you'll come home to me."

The sound of the lone sailor coming to pick you up was drawing near.

"I promise."

Under the rain he wrapped you in a warm embrace, kissing you at the same time like you were never going to return to him.

Part of you didn't even know if you would make it back alive either.

"You must be the lass that Kazuha was talkin' about! Come on now we're on a tight schedule!" The sailor yelled out to you.

"I'll be back sooner than you know it." You whispered to Diluc, before turning to board the small boat.

The sailor was quick to set sail, pushing the both of you further out into the sea. Your eyes never left Diluc's figure as he stood alone on the shore, or at least you tried until you couldn't see him anymore.

"You must be in love with the man, eh?" The sailor chuckled.

"Yeah, that makes the most sense." You sighed, turning to the sailor.

"Leaving someone you love isn't easy, I have to leave my wife and girls to sail. It hurts, but I will always return to them!" The sailor cheered while turning the boat towards Guyun Stone Forest.

You smiled to yourself softly as he kept telling stories about his family the trip to the Alcor. He was an honest many, but a tad bit too naive to know you were a wanted person.
