Walking through the plains of Liyue makes you uneasy, but the unknown always makes people uneasy. Lumine leads the way as Diluc trails behind you, meaning you're open to a side attack. You tried to push the thoughts of having to fight someone and to just take in the area around you.
Liyue was much different than Mondstadt, unlike the shaped cliffs and gentle breeze, tall unmoving cliffs was around your every side. Despite the tall pillars of stone, the marsh you walked through was rather peaceful as not many monsters was in the way to stop your trails before you all passed out. The moon was about to start crawling into the sky as Lumine said it was better to travel at night. No matter how much you checked, you always felt watched over by multiple pairs of eyes. The whole idea of staying in Liyue made you want to curl up into a ball of nothing.
"We should be coming up to Wangshu Inn soon," Lumine pointed to the tree in the distance. "We can stay there for the night."
"Are you sure?" You wrap your arms tighter around yourself. The though of having to rest in ear shot of people who you cant trust put you even more on edge.
"We'll be fine! Verr Goldet is someone you can rely on, I promise." Lumine smiled at you.
Even though you trusted Lumine, you could never fully shake the feeling of dread pilling up in you. You wanted to set your legs ablaze and get the hell out of Liyue, no place in mind just anywhere but Liyue. You turned your attention to the ground to try and ease your mind, looking at the tall grass that swayed gently in the wind. Although you trusted no one here, the land here was for sure breathtaking. If you weren't so wanted and fully human, maybe then you could enjoy the land in front of you, but you might as well be asking the Shogun for a cup of tea at that point.
Your legs started to ache as you came around to a bridge as you finally arrived to the Inn. To say you got stares was an understatement, you could hear the whispers from the workers as you kept your head forward. You had to shove any sort of emotion you had boiling up and put on a façade that seemed cold and distant. You averted any sort of eye contact with anyone as you entered the elevator along with your two other travel companions, gazing at the ground that became farther and farther away from you. Sometimes you wonder how Diluc can keep up such a face all the time.
You both followed Lumine and stood off to the side as she and Paimon talked to the lady at the front desk, who kept eyeing you from time to time. You closed your eyes and tried to ignore it, your body was about to boil over with intense emotions just from the sight of anyone else giving you a weird stare. Calming your nerves was your weakest asset, as you felt too much all the time. You opened your eyes once again to check on Lumine, who was turning away from the counter with three keys. She gave you and Diluc separate keys, as you took the first opportunity to check in for the night. You reached for the railings and climb the steps quickly and quietly to your room, wasting no time to unlock the door and closing it shut.
Once you heard a click from the lock, you backed up to the wall and sunk to the floor. Your heart was beating out of your chest and you could feel your own breathing getting more and more unsteady. You scrambled to tear off your armor though it proved to be much harder when your hands were constantly shaking. You just wanted the cold metal off your body as soon as you can, tossing them lazily to the side as you finally grasped your chest to breathe. Your body didn't allow you to calm down no matter how much you silently begged for it to do so. You reached for the bed behind you as you curled up on the soft sheets, taking comfort into anything to help you feel at ease.
You laid there for who knows how long until the feelings of being on edge slowly left your body, your breathing resuming its normal rhythm once more. You felt so drained from your emotions, but could never pull yourself together to sleep as you rolled on your back. You stared at the ceiling as you tried to make heads or tales as to why you wouldn't sleep despite being so tired. You were running out of options, you thought about visiting Diluc but had no idea where his room was as you took off into here. Your heart ached as you rolled off the bed, making way to the coinvent balcony before you.
