Kaitlin:

I hit my limit of pleading. I never pleaded. After swearing never to do it again after Cyrus, I only broken it once for Javier's sake. Now Samhain and he knew this yet refused to acknowledge me.

Pussy. I paused and felt a prickle in the back of my mind. It was either the demon trying to get through but he looked too busy trying to drive Seth to his breaking point. He must've figured that if he got Sethan to attack me, I'd defend myself. I clung onto hope, Pussy, pussy, pussy.

I am sunning myself, Samhain's voice was bored.

My heart stopped. I managed to breathe, Not what you once were, huh.

Says the old hag. I heard rustling. Wherever he was, he was likely shifting positions, Does the mongrel know he kissed an old hag?

He must've meant Seth. He really had been watching this entire time.

I will neuter you if you don't get your furry ug- I started to say ugly but remembered I needed him. Royal, I corrected, and mighty, I added, spreading it thick, butt over here.

What's in it for me?

The demon! Haven't you been listening!

I tuned you out.

Samhain!

I already ate, swam and now your annoyingly cutting into my nap time. What's taking that puny demon so long?

I almost exploded into a puff of magic taking everything within the circle with me. Unfortunately, that wouldn't reach Samhain so I held it in. I also remembered I had wronged him, I've got a demon blade too. You know how rare they are. I'll let you chew on it. Really, you can have it. Samhain. Please. If I die I'll become like Cyrus and you'll get called on by someone else. Do you think they'll release you from doing their bidding like I did? I gave you freedom and-

Shut up. Samhain snapped angrily with a hint of something else.

Can you still jump old cat? I decided to egg him and continued to watch Sethan pace the small space. The demon was gloating him and from the looks of it succeeding in rupturing a few veins. He was breathing erratically and gaze changed directions and landed on me, I wasn't fully convinced there was much of Sethan left in there.

My mouth moved on it's own, "It'll be ok." Sethan continued to glare at me, chest heaving with every vein in his body pronounced under sweat-slickened sun-kissed skin. The sight of him would be permanently etching in my brain for eons to come and pop out at inconvenient times. Especially in the shower. Minus the blood soaked through shirt. How he was standing up, I had no idea.

"It won't work." Cupid pointed out thinking I was going to attack the barrier in attempt to break it. I wasn't stupid. If I managed to break it, I'd have to drain myself. I'd gathered my magic as a last resort and prayed to the heavens that Sethan's beast, for the time being, hated being entrapped more than he did me.

I waited a second longer and felt Samhain manifest, taking a hint of my strength with me. Samhain scratches Elizabeth's doodles on the ceiling and I blast the rest of what remained of my strength at Marcus. Sethan would eat Elizabeth and Samhain would snack down the demon. It'd work. It was supposed to work. Problem was that Samhain hadn't manifested his mystical behind right beside me. That was the first second of trouble.

The second was the howling outside and I recalled the werewolves outside. They'll been making noise since the demon had showed up and I'd figured they had chased Marcus here but couldn't get inside luckily due to something Elizabeth did that I'd missed.
