Kaitlin
The two men had shaved heads and skin peppered with freckles that complemented their dimpled chins. The round tip on their noses hung a bit too low on their chiseled faces but seemed proportional due to their freakishly tall height.
Their remanent forehead lines would be killer if they ever smouldered. If I were to have seen them walking down the street, I would've gawked.
Except we weren't.
It's as if they knew what I was thinking. Their bow lips peeled back to showcase large flawless white teeth.
I'm not proud to say that I froze like a rat in a maze, or rather, a witch trapped between aisles in my very own shop.
It was like they rehearsed it.
They took a step forward at the exact moment their dark eyes flashed orange along the rims, their beasts animate about my presence.
It was the creepiest and most sensual thing.
I'd never seen that color on wolves before.
I lurched back a huge step and gathered my wits.
They were mid a second step when a voice rang out, "Hold it."
My brain informed me that I knew that voice. Problem was that the one to the right took a step forward making me only think about giving the lonely scar on his face a dear partner. My sword stopped short from making contact with his face as he'd bent to inspect my weapon.
His couching revealed a concerned Quinn.
I peered at the twins, one standing looking like he couldn't make up his mind about wanting to fuck me or kill me, and the other curiously jabbing his index finger forward to probe my sword. I understood his interest. My sword had reacted to my fear and their auras. The edge was illuminating slightly with a desire towards being fed.
I remembered Sethan's words, the two psychopaths returned.
"I told you two to wait." Quinn grumbled with a sigh and tipped his head at me, "Sorry Kate. We ran out of food."
I dematerialized my sword and thought over what was happening.
I'd been dumb to think I was going to have some alone time.
The bent twin poked air and shot up, quickly recovering faster than others at my ability, "The craziest spell you've ever conjured. Ready, set, speak!"
I struggled to form words because it hadn't looked like they'd been craving my leftover meatloaf I hid deep in the fridge from Leon. I played along, missing Zeke, "How are we defining craziness? Like funny, wild or dark?"
The twin pulled a soured face and threw his head back to look at Quinn who stopped chewing on his upper lip. I'd never seen him this apprehensive.
"If you must know," Quinn's expression turned proud, "She made Aiden pee upwards."
I wondered if Quinn didn't like Aiden.
The twin's head swung back revealing a sly grin. His attention was on his brother who'd yet to speak, "I told you he was extra crabby. He even complained about getting laid." He must've been referring to Aiden. He shifted his focus to me, "Ever try to give someone a forever boner?"
His brother smacked the back of his brother's head. The movement had been quick that I almost didn't follow it. The scared twin yelped and clutched the back of his head.
