Kaitlin
There was a pitched scream and I just about made out the name, "Bastian!"
It was about the same time a wall slid in front of me.
A very furry wall I somehow managed to keep from lighting on fire. I tensed and reminded myself that the deep red fur resembled Quinn's hair. He had partly shifted and placed himself in front of me to stop whatever blow the vampire was cooking.
"I almost fried you Quinny." I tried teasing but my voice came out too serious. The vampire, Bastian, had released an insane desire to kill that my mark was still reacting. I tried to clear my throat, "I'll appreciate it if you let me finish my own battles next time."
Despite his beastly back, Quinn's voice was shockingly human, "It's already done."
I couldn't see Bastian at all.
"You've drawn blood." announced the female vampire. "With ice." she said the last word with a hint of confusion. I didn't respond. Witches controlling more than one element weren't unheard of, just not common at my skill level. As for Bastian's power... It made me all that more curious about the King's power.
Quinn turned his head and lifted an I told you so it was over brow at me.
I crossed my arms and refrained from informing him that he'd been a split second away from getting caught in my fire ring. Vampires had nasty speed and Bastian had been holding out on me earlier. I wasn't going to gamble on what direction he'd come at me from.
I shrugged and waited to see if they'd keep their word.
There was vemon in his voice "Move Stella."
I peeked around Quinn and saw Bastian's hair halfway to Super Saiyan mode.
Stella didn't spare Bastian a glance, "You've lost Basti." I'm not going to lie. I was a little bit worried about her. There was murder in Bastian's eyes. I could feel it on my skin. She took a step towards me as if Quinn wasn't in Wolverine mode and stated, "I'll escort her."
Quinn didn't move and neither did Bastian. I was willing to bet Quinn's Wolverine card that they were having a stare down. I budged a bit further out behind Quinn as Stella gestured towards the stairs for me to go first. Since Quinn's attention didn't falter, I moved forward as Stella surveyed them, "You three can wait here."
"Or we can draw blood." said a deep voice. I turned to see a trace of a smile on Zach's face before the twins went blurry. Quinn crossed his arms as his glaze caught and left mine almost as soon as he joined the twins.
I saw exactly how stupid I've been in allowing myself to be anywhere near werewolves for the past months. Heck, I'd made one of them pee upwards. It was a miracle I didn't have to conjure a fire ring earlier. I was going to have to be more selective on how I used my magic. I couldn't walk around close to depleted. The hadn't flared well when I'd faced the hellhounds and demons.
Seeing my pause, Stella took the lead.
I glanced at her floor length Ankara dress as it flowed rhythmically as she strode. The vampire was gorgeous and the slit in her dress made her hips even more drool worthy. Part of her thighs and glutes were genetic but a decent portion was due to hard work in a gym like entertainment. Talk about girl crush.
"Umm," I muttered.
Stella humoured me with a pause.
"Shouldn't you help your friend?" I pointed in the direction of the sporadic swearing. It was a bit hard to see from where I stood but Bastian was going to need more than his sparkling magic trick. "There's three of them."
