Short and sweet 💜
****************

Namjoon had been super excited to get a signed copy of one of his favourite books.
He waited up all night so that he didn't make the mistake of not waking up on time. Logic right?
He was beyond exhausted, and watching his roommate happily napping on the couch wasn't helpful.

Namjoon got on his bike, riding to the nearest bookshop. He noticed that it was busier than usual, people lined up near the door. He hadn't anticipated it being this busy, his heart sank a little. Perhaps after all this, he wouldn't be able to get the book. However, he remained optimistic. As soon as the door opened, everybody rushed inside.

Everybody was fighting to get to the books, Namjoon even noticed somebody yank another person by the hair and throw them to the floor just to get to the book faster. He was lowkey scared. Sure the book was amazing, but to be violent was something else. He reached the bookshelf and sure enough, it was empty. Sighing, he quickly rescans to make sure it truly was empty.

Namjoon noticed one book on the shelf, he smiles happily. His lucky day! Namjoon reached out for the book and was met with the hand of another person. He looks to his side and sees another male gripping the book. He was a little bit shorter than him, with brown fluffy hair and a bright pink sweater.
"Well this is awkward," the other says, "but it's clearly mine"
"No way! I reached for it first!" Namjoon protests.
"My hand was on it first" the other smirks, "so be a darling and remove your hand from my book"
"Look I've been awake for almost twenty hours, I deserve this!" Namjoon narrows his eyes at the other.

"I was really hoping I didn't have to resort to this" the other sighs, quickly pointing to the side and gasping "Oh my god! Is that a pigeon fighting a chicken?"
Namjoon glances to his side to see what the hell he was talking about. The other male quickly snatched the book and starts to run to the register.
"Hey!" Namjoon runs after him, trying to grab the back of his pink sweater. But it was too late, the other male had already made it to the register.

The other turns to him and sticks his tongue out at him. Namjoon is quite shocked at this very childish behaviour. But he's more pissed off that he didn't get the book. He sighs, rubbing his hair, there wasn't anything he could do, he would just have to wait a few more months to try again.

"Here"
Namjoon looks up to see the other male holding the book out toward him, he places it gently in Namjoon's hands with a wink before he walks past him and out of the bookshop. Namjoon stands there in shock, staring at the book in his hands. He also felt a little flustered at the other male winking at him, he was cute, Namjoon couldn't deny. He wanted to call out to the other, quickly spinning around to look at the exit, but the other was already gone.

"So you got the book huh? After dorking out about it all week" Yoongi, Namjoon's roommate, says with a yawn.
"Yeah I did, I actually fought somebody for it"
"Wow, that book must be amazing"
Namjoon opens the book, wanting to see the signature of his favourite author, however, a small piece of paper fell out. He bends down to see it, noticing neat handwriting.

'Are you a banana? Because I find you appealing ;)
Call me xxxxxxxxxx'

Namjoon turns bright red, and Yoongi looks down at the note.
"Wow okay, should I be going to the bookstore to find a lover? Nerds"
Namjoon smiles, dimples on display, as he quickly gets his phone and dials the number.
