Red smeared Namjoon's face, he looked down at his knuckles which were painted with the same crimson colour. He wasn't sure if the blood was his or someone else's, he sighed as he wiped his bloodied hands on the cloth beside him, soothing his aching knuckles.
He eyed the man bound to the ceiling, face bloodied and bruised beyond recognition, the chains holding him digging into his flesh. Namjoon's lips pressed together in a slight grimace, sighing again. The man's faded blue eyes made eye contact with his dragon eyes, his eyes were feverish, and his pupils dilated. He whimpers slightly as Namjoon quietly strode towards him, standing near the table and chair beside him.
His eyes darted between the various weapons that lay organised on the table. Namjoon poked his tongue against his cheek, unsure which weapon would cause the most pain. He sighed again for the nth time, looking up at the man.
"Which one would you recommend?"
he spat tauntingly, chuckling under his breath as the man shifted in fear."Please...I'm begging for mercy" he whimpers, drool dripping from his chin.
A booming laugh resonates around the warehouse walls, as Namjoon stares up at the man in disbelief.
"You do not deserve my mercy. You disgusting shit" Namjoon smirks, now picking up a corkscrew. He sat down on the stool in front of the man, leaning forward and sliding the chair closer to him. The hostage looked at him with his eyebrows raised, shifting uncomfortably, attempting to back away. But to no avail, with a nasty grin, Namjoon yanks him right back.
"Where do we draw the line between a hero and a villain?" He questions with unwavering eye contact, "I'm saving lives like a hero by getting rid of scum like you"
The room was silent. The victim spat out blood, groaning in pain.
"By taking them away? Some hero"
Namjoon stared at him; a flash of anger crossed his eyes at his hypocrisy. His eyebrows angled upwards, and his forehead wrinkled.
"There's no other way" he stated, eyes never leaving his.
"There's always another way."
"Don't act so innocent. I know how the story goes" he spat out coldly, standing up and pacing around the hostage in wide strides "I give you to the police, you hire the best attorney, and presto, you avoid any sort of consequence."Namjoon made his way back to face him, head tilted slightly. His body was relaxed, and his eyes twinkled mischievously.
"That's how it always is. The world remains corrupt with people like you. The system doesn't work." He took in a deep breath, twirling the corkscrew between his fingers, "which is why I have to take different approaches. One that brings justice, one that seems fair"Suddenly, Namjoon grabbed his arm, yanking his body fiercely so his face met with Namjoon's. He groaned in pain, the chains now slicing at his wrists, and blood poured out of the wounds. Namjoon's once relaxed eyes now intensely glaring at his.
"You think killing me is justified?" The man said in a shrill voice, beads of sweat dripping from his forehead.
"I do. I really do. You killed so many innocent people. You tortured them. Made children orphans. If I don't kill you right now, who knows how many more people you'll go and kill. I think it's fair" he gave him a satisfied smile.
"B-but It's still murder!" he whimpered, he ignored him, digging his nails into his arm."You of all people should understand. You're a nobody" he pushed back his body, watching him swing backward, "an invisible man, angry at history for not seeing him. A disgusting human, one who has to pay for what he's done"
Namjoon made his way back to the table, now placing down the corkscrew. He stared up at the man, with an evil smirk as he grabbed the .9mm pistol from the table, one bullet inside. It was a weapon that surprised Namjoon. Something so small and deadly carries the weight of the souls it ends. It weighed heavily in his hand; he knew how fast it can end a human life. He aimed the pistol at his victim; the victim staring death in the face.
