Every day was always the same for Seokjin. He would wake up to an empty bed with almost no trace of his significant other. He would get ready for work, looking over different scripts and watching his production over and over. After he finished work he would go back home, to an empty house.

The house was quiet, Seokjin felt he could drop a pin and he would hear it echo. He dropped his bag by the door, sighing heavily. Every day was like this, his husband was a famous producer in a hip-hop group. Kim Namjoon, a name that made everybody scream.

The two met when Seokjin auditioned for an acting role in his music video. Namjoon was instantly smitten and did everything in his power to make him feel special. Namjoon and Seokjin were the power couple. But those days felt like they were centuries ago.

They lived in a nice two-story house in the rich part of the city, but it was homey and not big to brag about. Seokjin didn't want to live in a mansion despite having the money to do so. He wanted a simple place, one he would share with Namjoon forever. Their home wasn't always this quiet and dull, dust wasn't a prominent feature on their furniture. Despite that people lived there, it wasn't a home anymore. It once was full of laughter and love.

Seokjin hardly saw Namjoon after his promotion to head producer, he essentially oversaw all the company's music activities. Seokjin barely remembers the last time they even had a conversation, was his voice deep or was it soft? Seokjin barely recalls his smile either, surely those dimples were still there. Seokjin walks into the house, puts on his house clothes, and gets ready to make dinner. It was their anniversary tomorrow and he wasn't sure if Namjoon remembered, being busy and all.

Seokjin poured himself a very large glass of wine, thinking about Namjoon. Seokjin would wait around until the early hours to see if Namjoon would come home, but he never did. He cooked himself his meal, always putting out an extra plate for Namjoon. It didn't matter if it went bad and that it always got thrown out, Seokjin still made it. As the hours passed, and the clock struck midnight, Seokjin broke into a fit of sobs.

He missed Namjoon, he missed his presence and he missed his love. He walked into their room, the one they used to share. Seokjin continued sobbing as he grabbed Namjoon's old jumper, putting it to his nose.
Was he just not a good husband? Was that why Namjoon never came home? Seokjin began to spiral deep into thought. It made him cry harder, he fell on the bed and curled up in a ball, hugging Namjoon's jumper tightly.

***********

Namjoon walked up toward the house, almost forgetting what it looked like. He groans as he opens the door, worn out from the tedious day he had. He carefully placed down the cake box on the table next to the door, placing the bouquet of roses next to it. He shuts the door quietly, matching the sound of the house. Namjoon felt awful, he hadn't been home consistently in months, opting to stay overnight at work. The times he did come home, Seokjin was in deep sleep, and Namjoon found himself admiring the other and stroking his hair.

Namjoon felt bad for not spending enough time with Seokjin. He wondered how his acting was going, how his new studio was. He wondered if he had any more terrible jokes. He missed his squeaky laugh and the way the brightest smile was only ever for him.

"I'm home," Namjoon says quietly, he walks toward the stairs, hearing the sounds of sobbing. Namjoon raced upstairs, slamming open their bedroom door.
"Seokjin?"
Seokjin sits up quickly, clutching onto Namjoon's jumper. His face was tear-stained and red, his eyes puffy.
"N-Namjoon?"
Namjoon's voice was deep, but smooth still. Seokjin burst into more tears seeing Namjoon standing there, eyes full of worry. Namjoon quickly sat by Seokjin's side, heartbreaking at the sight of him crying. He could feel his own tears burning behind his eyes as he laid his hand gently on Seokjin's lap.

Seokjin wraps his arms around Namjoon's neck, pulling him close to him. Sobbing loudly into his shoulder, Namjoon is quick to hold Seokjin.
"I-I'm so sorry!" Seokjin sobs, clinging onto Namjoon tighter.
"Am I a bad husband? P-please, don't leave me!" Namjoon coos the elder, tears falling down his own cheeks.
"No don't say that, you did nothing wrong. Absolutely nothing. It's my fault" Namjoon rubs his back, trying to calm him down.

"I miss you so much" Seokjin begins to hyperventilate. Namjoon felt awful, he was the worst husband in the world. Namjoon kisses Seokjin's forehead continuously, rubbing his back and telling him sweet nothings.
"I'm not leaving you ever. I'm right here"
After Seokjin's breathing calms down, he looks up at Namjoon, who looks down at him. Even with tears in his eyes he still was pretty.

Namjoon leans down and pecks his lips, holding him close. He leans his forehead on his.
"I love you Jinnie, I'm so sorry for failing you"
"I love you, so much"
The pair lay in each other's arms, Seokjin listening to the steady heartbeat of Namjoon. Seokjin fell asleep, smiling slightly as he felt comfortable. Namjoon watched as he slept, feeling nothing but love and affection.

Namjoon woke up early the next morning, doing his best to not wake Seokjin. He got his phone out, calling his boss. He left the room, opting to take the phone call outside to not disturb Seokjin. Seokjin woke up a short while later, seeing his bed empty. Was it a dream? He looked around, and not a single trace that Namjoon had been there. He felt tears prick in his eyes. He slowly walks downstairs, hearing Namjoon's voice, so it wasn't a dream.

"Joonie?" Seokjin calls out. Namjoon turns around, quickly hanging up on his boss.
"Hey baby, sorry I didn't mean to wake you" Namjoon walks toward Seokjin, holding his hand.
"I'm really sorry Seokjin, you don't deserve this. I should've been here more and more attentive to you, I was being selfish and working too much." Namjoon wipes the tears from Seokjin's eyes.
"I never want to make you cry again."
Namjoon hugs Seokjin, holding him close.

"I took the month off, we're going to go travel. Take some time for us okay?"
Seokjin cries again, feeling nothing but grateful. He pecks Namjoon's lips.
"Happy anniversary"

The two smiled ear to ear, walking toward the kitchen to make breakfast together. The house was full of smiles and laughter, and Namjoon was glad to be home. His home with Seokjin.
