Jisung had finally decided on dying his hair a chocolate brown color, already missing his blonde hair.
Lee Know convinced Chan to not cut the younger's hair, loving his current style.
The duo decided that Lee Know would be the one to dye the boy's hair since Jisung was more comfortable around the blonde.
Jisung was currently sat in front of the bathroom mirror while Lee Know prepared the dye.
Watching the older, Jisung couldn't help but miss his friends.
Felix and Seungmin were the ones to dye his hair his current dirty blonde, the three of them had a lot of fun that day.
A silent tear fell down Jisung's cheek as he remembered the joy he felt around his friends. He'll never be able to feel that joy again.
"Sweets, are you okay?" Lee Know was concerned as he looked over, only to see the younger crying.
Jisung's eyes met Lee Know's in the mirror, the older's eyes filled with worry.
Jisung only nodded, knowing that crying about missing his friends wouldn't lead to anything except the older telling him that it would be okay.
He didn't want to be comforted, he wanted to see his friends.
He wanted to hear Seungmin fanboy over the world of baseball, he wanted to know the latest fashion trends that Felix would go on about.
Jisung hung his head, sniffling back his tears. He had shut down. Jisung had accepted his fate, all there was to do now was play along in hopes of making the best of it.
Moving to be in front of the younger, Lee Know lifted his chin up, forcing the boy to meet his gaze.
"You can talk to me." Lee Know smiled gently, hoping that Jisung would open up to him.
All he wants is to comfort and love Jisung.
But Jisung just shook his head gently, telling the older that he could start dying his hair.
Sighing in defeat, Lee Know began to apply the dye to the boy's hair.
After a few minutes of silence, Jisung finally spoke up.
"Why am I here?" Jisung questioned in a soft tone, his eyes remaining on the mirror in front of him, watching Lee Know apply the dye to his hair.
Lee Know fell silent, wondering how to phrase his next few words so as to not scare the boy.
"You're our boyfriend. You belong at home, with us. Where we can protect you."
Boyfriend? The word echoed in Jisung's mind.
"But I never...I don't know you. Either of you. How could I be dating people I don't know?"
There's no good way of putting this, Lee Know thought to himself with a sigh.
"Five years ago. You and your two friends were at a park." Lee Know began, continuing on with dying the boy's hair, not daring to make eye contact with him.
Jisung was trying to think back on the past, trying to remember him, Felix, and Seungmin being at a park so long ago.
"That's where you met Chan." Lee Know's eyes trailed to look at Jisung, noticing the concentrated look on his face.
"Your frisbee flew over to him while he was reading. You went to retrieve said frisbee, speaking with Chan for a brief moment."
I remember, Jisung thought. He was resting against a tree, reading peacefully, until our frisbee landed at his feet. He seemed so kind at the time. He looked different, though.
"Chan came to school the next day and told me about you. It was like love at first sight, he was head over heels for you."
Jisung's eyes finally Lee Know's in the mirror as the older went on, "He took me to the park the next day to see you, and as my eyes landed on you, I, too, fell in love."
Lee Know's lips curled up into a soft smile, "Ever since that day, Chan and I have been keeping an eye on you, watching you grow up."
Jisung's stomach twisted at the older's words. Five years? They've been watching me for five years?
"We knew as soon as we saw you running away from home at the age of sixteen that we needed to save you. To rescue you from your parents. We knew we needed to give you the love you deserve. We knew that we had to bring you home. It was just a matter of when."
Jisung could throw up, he felt so ill at Lee Know's words.
"I knew how important school was to you, so we decided that we'd wait to bring you home until after graduation. We didn't want to ruin something so important to you."
Lee Know moved to stand in front of Jisung once more, both of his hands on either side of the boy's face, keeping his fright filled eyes on him.
"We only want what's best for you, sweets. And that's here, with us. We love you."
"I don't love you." Jisung spoke gently, seeing the pain in the older's eyes.
"That's okay, I know you will one day." Lee Know smiled gently, leaning forward to place a kiss on Jisung's forehead.
Lee Know left the room, telling Jisung to wash his hair out soon.
Once the door was closed, Jisung began to sob, his hand covering his mouth to muffle his cries.
The truth made the boy feel sick, he almost wished Lee Know hadn't told him anything.
They're psychotic, he thought. This is all because of a game of frisbee? Because I was nice to a stranger?
Without anything else to do, Jisung began his shower, washing the dye out of his hair.
He let the water wash his tears down the drain, his mind falling numb as Lee Know's words echoed in his mind.
We love you.
