"Are you sure you don't want one of us to walk you home, Ji? We don't mind."
Felix seemed worried for the younger, he didn't like the thought of someone watching over his very vulnerable best friend.
The blonde smiled at both of his friends. "I'm sure I'll be fine, I was probably just being paranoid."
Seungmin and Felix didn't feel the same way but they decided to allow the boy some freedom.
The both of them are constantly watching over the smaller, knowing how fragile and powerless he is.
After hugging each other goodbye, they all ventured their separate ways.
Jisung was feeling pretty okay, with no prying eyes. That was until he got to his house. Then that feeling arose again.
Who would be watching my house? The blonde thought, very carefully going into the house.
He made sure to lock the door behind him, sighing once he was inside.
Safe and sound, Jisung thought to himself as he rested against the front door.
His parents wouldn't be home for a couple of hours, but it's not like he would get to talk with them anyway.
Jisung's parents speak to the boy as minimally as humanly possible. Which is actually very easy considering Jisung has become fairly self sufficient.
The only things his parents do for him are buy groceries.
Jisung cooks his own meals, he makes his own appointments, and he even learned how to apply to universities without his parents' help.
Granted, the Lee's helped as much as possible, answering any questions he had.
The Lee's and the Kim's are always willing to help the blonde as Felix and Seungmin have kept their families up to date with how unfair Jisung's family is.
If it were up to the Lee's, they would have adopted Jisung years ago. They wanted the younger to have a better childhood, but they helped through Felix as much as they could.
Jisung would be turning eighteen in September, which was only five months away, so he will soon be able to live without his parents.
Once he's eighteen, he'll be an adult, and can finally be fully independent without the help of anyone.
Just five more months and then Jisung could finally leave his parents' house, he could find a proper job, and he could live his life without feeling like a burden.
He couldn't wait. All he's wanted for years is to escape this house. He was so close, yet so far at the same time.
Freedom was right around the corner, and he could not wait.
-
Chan finally arrived home after his routine of watching over Jisung. The younger had arrived at his parents' house safely, which meant Chan could finally go home to his lovely boyfriend.
"I feel it's about time we brought Jisung home." Chan spoke as he entered the kitchen, watching as his boyfriend was currently cooking dinner for the two.
Lee Know froze in his spot, feeling as though it was far too early to be bringing Jisung home.
"Are you sure, honey? Isn't it a little too soon?" Concern laced his voice, which didn't go unnoticed by the latter.
But Chan knew how cautious Lee Know was with Jisung, wanting the very best for the boy.
Lee Know watched as Chan furrowed his brows together, clearly not sharing the same thoughts as himself as he took his seat at the table.
He knew that if it were up to Chan, Jisung would have been with them months ago, if not years ago.
Lee Know finally plated their meal, sighing as he brought it to the table.
"All I'm saying is, shouldn't we let him finish school first? You know how important graduating is to him. He's worked so hard for his grades and for his diploma."
Chan sighed, nodding his head in agreement before thanking his boyfriend for the meal.
"You're right." Chan hated that he was right. But he knew he was. Jisung would hate them if they tore him away from his school.
Jisung has spent his entire high school experience working on his good grades. Granted, it was mostly for the acceptance of his parents, but he's worked hard nonetheless.
Lee Know intently watched his boyfriend, seeing his eyes shift as he thought about Jisung's family.
Chan despises the Han's for treating their poor little Jisung the way they have.
He deserves so much better, Chan thought whenever the Han's crossed his mind.
Sighing once more, the younger reached across the table to take hold of Chan's hand, earning the older's attention.
"Jisung graduates in a month. It won't be long until he's home with us, honey. Just be patient."
Chan smiled, "Okay, love."
The couple finally began to eat, a comfortable silence filling the atmosphere as both of them began having different thought processes about the boy that would soon be in their embrace.
Lee Know was imagining how incredible it was going to be to finally have Jisung in his arms.
He's wanted nothing more these past few years than to hold Jisung, to love him, to adore him.
Lee Know was imagining the cute dates they were going to have together, all the possible memories they were going to create as a whole with them and Chan.
Lee Know couldn't wait to be able to protect Jisung from the harsh world around him, to give him the love he deserves.
Chan, on the other hand, was imagining how lovely it was going to be to destroy the little boy's innocence.
He's dreamt about breaking the poor boy, and he would soon get his chance.
Chan wants to finally be a protector for the younger, to be someone he can turn to for safety and love.
Chan wants himself and Lee Know to become Jisung's family, to be his safe haven, to be his comfort.
But he doesn't know who's going to protect the fragile boy from himself.
