"Can you not talk so loudly? My head hurts." Jisung whined while pushing his head into the fluffy feeling of his duvet.
Felix sighed on the other end of the line, "I'm not even talking loudly, Ji. I can go get Min and we'll see who's talking loudly then."
"No, please." Jisung protested, not wanting the puppy to be screaming into the phone for an hour. He loves his best friend, but the taller can be a lot sometimes.
Silence filled the room until Felix decided to speak up again, "Why'd you drink so much? How'd you drink so much?" "I don't know. They just kept handing me drinks so I kept drinking. I don't even remember how many I had, I kind of started to black out after three or four."
Jisung could feel the disappointment through the phone, and he's sure if Felix were sitting next to him, he'd be smacked by the freckled boy for being so dumb.
"Aside from the hangover, are you feeling okay? Nothing hurts?" Felix was worried that maybe the older two had taken advantage of Jisung while he was inebriated. Jisung was aware of the other's concerns because he felt the same questions swimming in his brain.
He wasn't particularly sore, but he couldn't help but wonder if Chan and Lee Know had seized the opportunity in the heat of the moment.
He wouldn't put it past Chan to do so, and who knows how the blonde is after a few drinks. Jisung sure doesn't remember.
"Ji? The silence is killing me." "I don't know, Lix. I don't think anything happened. I'm sure we just danced and then came home." He wasn't so sure, and Felix could hear it in his tone of voice, but both boys decided to drop the subject.
"I want to have lunch dates again." Felix sighed, "I miss them. The three of us could catch up so much easier and talk for ages."
Jisung hummed in response, a wave of sadness washing over him as he was, once again, reminded of how dearly he missed his best friends. He hadn't heard from Seungmin as much lately, but he missed him so much.
"Ask your Master if we can have lunch sometime. I'll try to stomach some food with him glaring me down." Jisung giggled at the other's remark, his head pounding from the action. But he didn't mind as much, as long as Felix was around to make him feel better.
And then he remembered what had happened over the phone and he immediately felt guilt and shame. "Lix, I'm really sorry about the other day."
"Don't worry about it." Felix shook it off, but deep down, he could never truly shake off the emotions he had been feeling after that phone call.
At one point in his life, Felix would have done anything to hear his best friend moan like that. He'd given anything to hear the other moan his name like that.
Hearing him now felt wrong, like he wasn't meant to be exposed to that. It was a dream he had long given up on, so it didn't feel right to be experiencing it so many years later.
If Felix was being honest, hearing Jisung moan like that brought back those feelings and emotions he had worked so hard on repressing. In an instant, all his hard work had vanished.
As much as Felix was deeply in love with Jisung, he knew the other didn't feel the same. He knew this the moment Jisung had called off their relationship.
But, Felix treasured their friendship far more than his own emotions, so he immediately pushed everything down, ignoring it all, in order to protect their friendship.
Jisung's voice brought Felix out of his racing thoughts, pulling him back to reality. The reality where Jisung isn't his. "I'll ask Oppa tonight if we can plan something. The chances are higher if I go to him first."
There was a knock on the door before Chan was peering inside, his voice quiet as he questioned the brunette how he was feeling this morning.
"My head hurts." Jisung pouted, laying his phone down but not hanging up on his best friend. He knew nothing awkward was going to happen this morning, or he hoped, so having him on the line wasn't a big deal.
Chan mirrored Jisung's pout as he came and sat by the younger, "I'll bring you some medicine. Why don't you just rest for a while, I'll have my men tell Hannah we aren't going by today."
Jisung only nodded, perfectly fine with skipping out on going to the office today. He didn't know if he could handle Chan's advances with his head in the current state it was in.
As Chan started to take his leave to go fetch the smaller some pain medication, Jisung called out for the older. "Master? Could we...Could we have lunch with Felix and Seungmin sometime soon?"
Chan's blood boiled with jealousy at the mention of the freckled boy, but he turned around to face the smaller with a blank expression, trying to suppress it. "Sure, doll."
Jisung's eyes lit up, "Really?" He was certain that Chan was going to deny the request, or lead him on with the excuse of 'let me talk to Lee Know' first.
Chan hummed, making his way back over to the boy, leaning over his small frame. "You've done really well for Master lately, I think it's only fair you get to see your friends again."
Jisung squealed with excitement, but was soon whining from the immediate pain in his head.
Chan cooed, "Awe, I'm sorry, doll. Next time we'll limit your intake." Jisung nodded, questioning how many drinks he had. Chan only smiled, "A few."
Leaning forward to press a kiss on the boy's forehead, Chan assured him that he'd be right back with some water and pain medicine.
Once Chan left, Jisung picked the phone back up to speak to Felix, only to hear the male on the end holding back his laughter. "God, Ji. He's so...just not it."
"Shut up." Jisung grumbled, his cheeks still pink from the forehead kisses.
Chan soon returned, a glass of water and a couple pain pills in hand. He gestured for the smaller to take them, Jisung taking a big gulp of water to help wash them down.
Jisung mumbled a soft 'thank you' as he sat his glass of water on the side table, earning a hum from the older as he began his leave once again.
"Oh, doll?" Chan started, turning to face Jisung as he stood in the doorway. "Let freckles there know we'll be having lunch Saturday."
With that, Chan took his leave. Jisung sighed softly as he pulled the phone up to his ear, hearing Felix make fake gagging noises. "He gives me the ick, Ji. How do you stand him?"
"He's getting better as the days go on." Jisung smiled to himself, glad he doesn't feel the ick with Chan anymore.
