ENGAGEMENT

Esther's POV

This is her engagement day. Sara was getting ready for the party.

"You look gorgeous ", Richard said to me. I was also there to witness this.

"Thanks ", I replied.

I saw Elijah and Eric holding her hands. Sara is really lucky. She gets everything.

I was an outsider. If a guest came and asked about me, I don't know how to answer it.

"Esther, Sara is beautiful, right ", Eric asked me. I looked at him. She is beautiful. I know it.

"Of course she is." It was Aaron who answered the question.
I saw Aaron go near her. They are holding their hands. The happiness in Sara's eyes is very visible.

I tried to talk to Aaron, but he avoided me. He rejected my calls. He was ready to get married to Sara. Well, if things are like this, then okay. Let them get married. I stopped my revenge plan. Seducing him was the wrong idea. The only thing on my mind is that after the wedding, I will fly back.

Richard looks like a proud father. Two hulks are happy for her.

"Esther, you look beautiful," Sara complimented me. She was coming towards me. I was looking at the picture of their happy family.

"Thank you ", I replied to her, looking at Aaron. He placed his hand on her waist.

"Esther, our marriage is soon. So you have to help me with the wedding gown," Sara said.
She needs to discuss it here. Right now.

"Yeah, Esther, help my soon-to-be wife with the wedding dress," Aaron said. It hurts to hear this from him. They are purposefully hurting me. It was normal. I have faced it a lot, but after these years, there is no change.

"But my selection is bad, Sara." I did not want to stand with them.
"It's okay, Esther, you can do this ", Aaron said. I never imagined him joining this group. I used him for revenge, but my feelings for him were true. I was too late to realize my feelings. Now there is no need for it.

"I have a surprise for you ", she said to me. It frightened me. Her surprises always become a problem for me.

What is new? I waited there for her surprise. A guy was walking toward us.
"Look", she said.
"What? ", I asked.

"Do you know him?" She asked. I feel like I have seen him before. But I have no idea.
"This is Tommy. Your Tommy,", she said. I looked at him. What the hell?

"Tommy? ", I said.
"Esther? ", he responded.
There is a pin-drop silence. Silence at a party.

I can't believe this.

"Who is this? ", Aaron asked to Sara, waking me up from the memories.
"Aaron, this is our Esther's lover, Tommy. Esther, he understood your love. He still loves you ", she explained happily to Aaron and me.

What is happening? Tommy was silent. He was talking with his eyes.

Sara pulled Aaron along with her and walked to the stage. I was going for some fresh air. This all suffocates me.

"Esther ", Tommy called.

I walked to the balcony, but Tommy followed me.

"Esther ", he called me again.
"Tommy, what are you doing here? ", I asked.
"Sara invited me ", he answered, looking down.
"So you came to your ex-girlfriend's engagement ", I was mad.
"I came to see you. You still remember everything? ", he asked.

" What? You cheated on me with Sara, or I saw you on her bed, or you chose her over me, or you believed her words that I tried to kill her. I remember all of these", I said.

"It was a mistake. I was young back then ", he said.
"For you, it was a mistake ", I said. I have to give my life for it.

"Esther, hear me first ", he said.
"What do you want to say now?" I asked. Is there anything to say?
"Esther, you saw your boyfriend with your sister, which made you mad, so you tried to kill your sister ", he said. So this is still what they are thinking.

"So you think I tried to kill Sara", I asked him.
"No, Esther, it was what I thought back then. But when I got to know Sara, I understood there was some misunderstanding," he admitted. Misunderstanding?.

" Esther I know you from a young age. But I fall for her trap. It was one time. But when I saw you holding a gun against her, I lost my mind ", he said.

"Are you defending your actions ", I asked.
" No. But when I heard that you went abroad, it really shocked me. I never expected your family would send you off ", he said, talking nonstop.
"Whatever,", I stopped.
"I asked for your number and contact details from them, but no one gave it to me", he said.

"But you maintained a relationship with her", I asked.
" Yes. Sara was too good at acting. She is really a manipulative bitch", he said.

"Sorry for everything I did and sorry for not standing for you", he said sadly.
"It is too late ", I concluded.
"Yep, but when I started suspecting Sara, I understood you were innocent. Every night, I see a young Esther crying in front of me. She was crying for my help". His eyes filled with tears.

"What? ", I asked.
"I never got peace, Esther. Please forgive me. I can at least have peace in this irregular life", he said sincerely.

"Stop. I don't want to hear anything about her or my past ", I said.
"Ohkay, I won't bring your past anymore ", he said.
"Hmm", I hummed.

"How is your life? Where were you? ", he asked.
I didn't answer. I don't want to discuss anything with anyone here. I removed all my attachments from here.

I got a call. I said an excuse to Tommy and walked away from him.

It is getting complicated. I just want to go back and live my past life.
