"Mom? Dad?" Carl croaked out weakly. I had moved from the chair earlier to sitting on the floor with my back to the bed and facing the door.

"Carl" I gasped, rushing to my feet. "I uh, I can go get your parents" I offered but he shook his head.

"No, it's okay, you can stay" he spoke up and I sat on the bed beside him. The two of us sat in silence, neither one knowing what to say as the reality of what happened to him settled in again. After only a few minutes of quiet though, the Grimes boy had drifted off to sleep again.

"Hey, you guys are gonna want to check this out" T-Dog rushed over to where Harley and Glenn were standing, Emily and Lori overhearing and looking over with concerns as they worked to set up a campsite.

"What is it?" The Rhee girl worried, following her friend as he lead them over to Dale and a few others who had gathered.

"Looks like we've got us a swimmer." Dale commented shining a light down into the well for everyone to see.

"Gross" Harley looked at it with disgust at the thought of how our group almost drank that water.

"How long you think it has been down there?" Glenn wondered.

"Long enough to grow gills." Andrea replied, taking notice of how deformed the Walker had become from being in the water so long.

"We can't leave it in there. God knows what it's doing to the water." Lori said, voicing her concerns while Emily nodded in agreement.

"We got to get it out." Shane started.

"Easy. Put a bullet in its head." T-Dog said darkly. "I'll get a rope."

"Whoa whoa, guys. No." Maggie protested right away, calling the attention onto her.

"Why not? It's a good plan." Glenn shrugged.

"It's a stupid plan." Harley agreed.

"If that thing hasn't contaminated the water yet, blowing its brains out will finish the job." Emily reminded the rash men who just wanted to kill some walkers.

"She's right. Can't risk it." Shane agreed with his little sister.

"So it has to come out alive?" T-Dog asked.

"So to speak." Shane nodded.

"How do we do that?" Glenn asked, looking to the group for answers.

"He's not going for it." Dale said, watching the Walker from above while Shane lowered a ham into the well by a rope, Maggie having given them the ham to use as bait.

"Maybe 'cause a canned ham don't kick and scream when you try to eat it." T-Dog commented, everyone watching from around the well.

"He's right. There's a reason the dead didn't come back to life and start raiding our cupboards." Lori pointed out with a shrug.
