. . .
. . .
"Where's the rest of us?" Daryl looked around at the group that had reunited. "Where's my daughter?" He is eyes began to burn with fury at the thought of me getting left behind.
"We're the only ones who made it so far." Rick said.
"Shane?" Lori stood up and asked, Rick giving a sad shake of his head.
"Andrea?" Glenn asked next.
"She saved me, then I lost her." Carol spoke up.
"We saw her go down." T-Dog said with a sigh.
"Patricia?" Hershel asked.
"They got her, too. Took her right in front of me. I was... I was holdin' onto her, daddy. She just... what about Jimmy? Did you see Jimmy?" Beth cried, hugging her dad close.
"He was in the RV. It got overrun." Rick told her sadly and she cried harder.
"You definitely saw Andrea?" Carol worried.
"There were walkers everywhere." Lori said.
"Did you see her?" Carol repeated.
"I'm gonna go back." Daryl started towards his bike, determination setting him on his way back to me.
"No." Rick shut it down quickly.
"Like bell I'm gonna leave my little girl behind to die" Daryl got up in Ricks face.
"We don't even know if she's there."
"She isn't there. She isn't. She's somewhere else or she's dead." Rick stated grimly. "There's no way to find her."
"Emily and Harley aren't here yet either, they wouldn't leave without her" Lori added, trying to give Daryl some hope.
"So we're not even gonna look for them?" Glenn asked, hurt that the group would give up on them so quickly.
"We gotta keep moving. There have been walkers crawling all over here." Rick said, taking leadership again.
"Wait, what's that?" Carl asked, pointing down the road to where a car was driving up to them.
"Daddy!" I shouted, climbing out of the car. Daryl's head shot up, hope filling him as he saw his little girl running towards him. He crouched down, meeting me at my level for a hug.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" He pulled back to check me over, worried lines creasing his features.
"I'm okay" I nodded, glancing around at everyone. He pulled me in for another hug before letting me see everyone else.
"Oh Emily" Lori sighed, pulling her friend in for a hug, the girl not yet knowing the fate of her brother. Stepping back Emily looked to Rick who had stepped up to her, a look on his face that she knew exactly what it meant without words.
