"Lori, I will go after him. I will find him. Hey! Now look, first things first... I gotta... I gotta look after you. I gotta make sure the baby's all right, okay?" Shane said, as she pulled away from him, Lori staring at him horrified by his words as everyone else looked in shock at the news that was revealed.
"You're having a baby?" Carl spoke up from beside Shane, him and I appearing from the tents at the sounds of the group talking. "Why didn't you tell me?" He demanded, Lori looking around for help. I tilted my head slightly, watching Loris expression and knowing something deeper was going on. She stammered, not knowing what's to say to her son while Shane sighed, turning away from everyone.
"Come on. Let's make sure you're all right." Dale waved her over, breaking the tension.
"Come on." Emily softly took her hand, guiding the woman towards the house with shaky steps. The women both glared at Shane, walking away from him.
Everyone gathered in the house, Maggie sitting with Beth while Dale and Emily sat on the couch, Carl and Lori on the other couch and Andrea standing close by. Harley and I sat side by side on the floor, watching the Grimes with care.
"Thank you." Lori nodded when Andrea brought her a glass of water, Dale giving her some thing to hold on her head to slow the bleeding from her cut.
"I am so sorry that I left without telling you." She told her son in a hushed tone.
"It's okay. I wasn't scared." He promised her with a nod, the two having a moment. "When's dad getting back?" He wondered.
"Let's hope soon." She took his hand.
"I wanna be there when you tell him about the baby."
"Oh, love, he already knows. We were just trying to find the right time to tell you." She said with a small smile, still unsure of what to do with the pregnancy.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" He asked next, interest growing.
"Well, we won't know that until it's born."
"Will I be able to feel it?"
"Not for a while." She leaned back. "You must have a lot of questions, huh?" She looked to him. "We never had the talk." She explained over her shoulder to everyone else. "I guess we forgot." She laughed.
"He doesn't know?" I questioned Lori. All eyes in the room fell on me with clear shock at how I learned the things that I knew.
"You better keep your mouth shut" Dale said with a pointed look and I shrugged in response, not getting the big deal. Carl then leaned forward to see Dale.
"Don't look at me. That's your father's job." Dale said and Carl nodded, leaning back while Harley smiled amused, her mind being taken away briefly from her own worry's.
