"Andrea." Lori crouched beside the girl who had been knelt over her sisters body, unmoving since the attack last night. "I'm so sorry. She's gone. You got to let us take her." She tried to handle the situation calmly, knowing that Amy would soon turn and put us at risk again of another attack. "We all cared about her and I promise we'll be as gentle as we can." Lori promised but Andrea made no movement or acknowledgement. Lori stood up again and patted her gently on the back before leaving her alone again, knowing she just needed time.
Lori moved to sit with Carol and Harley watching the others work while Carl sat near me and Emily, playing with his toy trucks in the dirt to distract ourselves from the stench of burning walkers. Emily sat behind me, brushing my hair back into a ponytail to keep it out of my face for the day, or however long it lasts.
Daryl had been with the others taking care of the dead that had invaded our safety. He slammed a pick axe into a walkers head, Glenn watching from the side with disgust. Daryl pulled out the axe and walked off to the next walker while Glenn and T-Dog carried the body away to the smoking fire to burn it with the others, increasing the potency of the burning walkers.
"She still won't move?" Rick asked, approaching Shane and Dale to discuss Andreas position.
"Won't even talk to us." Lori shook her head slightly. "She's been there all night. What do we do?" She wondered, feeling bad for the grieving girl.
"Can't just leave Amy like that. We need to deal with it same as the others." Shane stated sternly, taking action.
"I'll tell her how it is." Rick decided, making his way over while Lori watched from where she sat.
"Andrea." Rick went to kneel beside her when she cocked her gun in his face and he paused.
"I know how the safety works." Was all she said in an emotionless tone.
"All right. Okay. I'm sorry." He slowly backed off. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." She lowered her gun once he was far enough and turned back to her sister.
"Y'all can't be serious. Let that girl hamstring us? The dead girl's a time bomb." Daryl pointed out, gesturing over to the sisters as the adults gathered to discuss the state of our camp, Harley watching us kids and keeping us busy where we were safe. "Im not putting my little girl at risk because that bitch isn't ready to let go of her poor little sister" Daryl mocked with annoyance, though he was prepared to do anything to secure the safety of his daughter.
"What do you suggest?" Rick questioned, open for suggestions.
"Take the shot." Daryl stated, taking a step closer to Rick. "Clean, in the brain from here. Hell, I can hit a turkey between the eyes from this distance." Daryl stressed his point.
