Sarah's POV
Tomorrow is my wedding day, and Mia was coming to my house today to stay with me the night and tomorrow we will both go together to the wedding venue.
It was her plan for the night stay as we could not go out or have any bachelorette party because obviously my parents didn't agree. But after a lot of convincing they agreed to let Mia stay the night.
She will he here during the lunch which was in 2 hours, I am just excited because this is my first girls night as you know I was never allowed to stay at other peoples house and since I had no friends this rule never hurt me.
The door bell rang and I looked at the watch it was still 1 hour for Mia to come. I ran downstairs thinking that she may have arrived early because maybe she would also be as excited as me.
But when I opened the door I came into face that mirrored my smile and the only other person I would be happy to see. But I was shocked as why was she here? especially a day before my wedding? did something happen?
"Eli?"
"Hello Sarah" she hugged me and smiled at me and I returned the smile
"Are you not happy to see me?"
"Oh, no I am I was just shocked and confused to see you here. Did something happen?"
"Oh chill child, nothing happened and I just came here bearing gift" she showed me her hand that was holding a bag.
Then my mom walked to us and greeted Eli
"It's nice to meet you Mrs. Reynolds. To what do we owe the pleasure" typical mom
"I just came here to give Sarah her wedding gift."
She then took out a velvet box from her bag and handed me. I looked at her and she smiles and nodded for me to open the box.
I opened the box and found the most beautiful blue stone necklace set with diamonds and silver chain. It was so beautiful and it reminded me of blue eyes that I happen to like nowadays and those appear in my dreams.
I looked at her and said "It's really very beautiful, but I am sorry I can't accept it. It looks expensive and I can't take it."
"Oh please, it's not that expensive, moreover I brought it for you specially. You have to wear it on your wedding tomorrow it will compliment your dress and I know it will suit you." If only she knew about my wedding dress.
"But.."
"No buts just keep it, it's a wedding present from me and William. You'll look beautiful tomorrow."
I was so overwhelmed by this I just hugged her and thanked her.
She left after some conversations and coffee. My mother held my arm tight which I think will leave bruises just as Eli got out of the house.
"You are getting really close to her?"
"Mom, you're hurting me, and what's wrong if I get close to her. She is my future mother in law I need to be good with her."
"But you never hugged me, talked to me or got this close with me?"
She is jealous? Like seriously? And why would I hug her or be close to her when all she ever did was berate me and made me feel unwanted. If she had been the mother like Eli, things would have been different.
"I was just being courteous."
"Yeah, I can see that" her grip was tightening on my arm but just in time the bell rang and I got out of her grip and rushed to the door.
