Third Person POV
"Alex, does Sarah have her mobile with her?" Daniel asked with hope in his voice.
"Yes, but she's not answering my calls," Alex replied, his voice laced with sadness and pain.
"Get me a laptop. And if it's Sarah's, even better," Daniel said, quickly sitting on the sofa and typing something on his mobile.
Alex didn't question any further and rushed to his room, picked up Sarah's laptop, and returned downstairs, almost tripping in his steps.
"We don't have time for you to open up your head; we need to find her for now," Daniel said sarcastically to Alex.
Alex gave him a stare that said, 'Don't fuck with me right now,' and Daniel went back to his work.
Daniel opened the laptop and typed something for a minute or two. "Found her! Thank God her 'find my device' was on."
Alex and everybody were ready to step out, but Daniel spoke, "Alex, I don't think you should come," in a guilty voice because he knew he was hurting Alex by saying this, but he had to.
"The fuck I am," Alex said angrily, shouting at him.
"Alex, try to understand. She's upset and doesn't want to be near you right now. Don't make her run away again. I will go get her home, and you can talk to her then. Okay?" Daniel said calmly, reasoning with Alex.
"Yes, Alex, if she is hurt because of you, I think you should not go right now," Elizabeth said sweetly.
Alex, with a heavy heart, nodded, and Daniel was about to step out when he saw Richard coming along. "You too, Mr. Thompson. She definitely would not want to see you either after all that went on at your house."
Richard also nodded, understanding and feeling guilty for his wife's actions and not being there for Sarah when she needed him.
Daniel went alone to get Sarah back.
Daniel drove as fast as he could to a secluded park that was far away near the outskirts of the city. "Damn, for how long has she been walking? I hope she is fine," Daniel spoke to himself, tracking her location on his phone.
***
Sarah walked for a long time, tears flowing from her eyes non-stop. When her legs felt heavy and she could no longer walk, she realized how far she had come. Feeling empty with nowhere to go, she found a park, sat on a bench, and started crying.
"Why doesn't anybody love me, God? Am I that bad?" Sarah asked, looking up at the sky, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"We can show you love, darling," a male voice said, startling Sarah.
She turned around to see two thugs grinning creepily at her. Realizing she was in a secluded area where no one roamed, and it was still early in the morning for anybody to be present, Sarah got up and started walking away from those men. However, they were following her. Sarah tried to run, but one of them held her wrist.
"What happened, darling? Don't you want any love now? We can make love to you all day if you want," one of the creepy men said.
"Leave my hand, please," Sarah pleaded.
"Why? Don't you want to be loved?" the other thug spoke.
Tears flowed faster, and Sarah's breathing became heavier as she was scared of what was to come next, fearing that nobody would ever know what happened to her.
"Leave her hand right this second, or you will find your arms hanging from the tree behind," Daniel shouted angrily from the park's entrance.
