Third Person POV

Sarah was brimming with excitement as she planned to surprise Alex with a visit to his office and present him with a gift. Somewhere in her heart, she felt guilty for doubting him after hearing the gossip from Amelia and Doris.

Upon entering the building, she approached the receptionist, who was busy on the phone. Politely, Sarah asked for directions to Alex's office, as she hadn't visited his new office before.

"Hi, I wanted to know the directions to Alex's office," she said to the receptionist with a smile.

The receptionist responded with a rude tone, saying, "Listen, babe, a lot of girls want to meet him, but he's not interested in anyone, and he doesn't allow bimbos in his office."

Sarah thought to herself, 'Okay, that was rude.'

"But I am his wife, Sarah Reynolds," she said again, smiling and attempting to obtain his office address.

The receptionist fake-laughed teasingly, "Yeah, right. Every girl wants to be his wife, babe, but he's not interested, and you may leave. I have a lot of work to do, and so does Mr. Reynolds."

'Does she not know that Alex is married? Don't people in his office know about it?' Sarah thought to herself.

Contemplating between calling Alex for directions and surprising him with her presence, Sarah stood there, thinking about what she should do.

Then she remembered the picture Alex posted on his Instagram yesterday. She retrieved her phone from her clutch and showed the picture to the receptionist. "Now can I know the directions to his office?" she questioned, and the receptionist's face turned pale.

"I am so sorry, Mrs. Reynolds. I did not recognize you. I was just following orders not to let any girl in unless it's for business," she said, changing her tone to apologetic and respectful.

"It's alright, but can you tell me which floor his office is on?" Sarah asked again, nicely.

"Yes, ma'am. It's on the top floor, 25, and to the furthest right. Next to Mr. Ashford's," she said.

Sarah nodded as a thank-you and left for the elevator. The receptionist called after her, "Mrs. Reynolds, you can take the private elevator. It's on the other side and reserved for the bosses." Sarah smiled at her and turned towards the private elevator.

Inside the elevator, she felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. It was the first time she had bought anything for Alex, and she hoped he would like it, along with her first visit to his office.

"I just hope he doesn't get angry with me showing up at his office and disturbing him," she muttered to herself.

"But he always says he is never too busy for me and would leave work if I needed to talk to him. And it's not like I would barge into his meeting. I'll wait until he is free," she reassured herself.

When she reached the 25th floor, and the elevator doors opened, her heart was beating fast with excitement. She turned towards the right, and people on the floor, no more than 10-15 employees, looked at her like she was an alien walking the earth. Sarah got more nervous at the stares but continued walking towards her destination, looking down at the ground to ignore the stares.

When she reached Alex's door, she saw that it was slightly open. She smiled, thinking of peeking in before knocking to see if Alex was busy or not.

However, when she peeked inside, her hands went to her wide-open mouth, and tears rolled down her cheeks constantly. She witnessed the whole scene unfold before her eyes, starting from Bertha kissing Alex to her telling him how he had been sex-deprived for a whole year, and that she would help him since his wife was not able to.
