Sarah's POV
I went to college excited about my new phone. Alex had done so much for me, and I should think of something to do for him in return.
When I met Mia at the cafe after college, I showed her my phone and asked her to teach me how to use it.
We spent an hour learning how to use my phone. She patiently answered my questions, even when I asked the same things three times and some silly questions like What if it exploded? or How can I know someone is calling me? I also asked her how to put my phone on silent because it kept buzzing during my lectures, and my professors complained. It was so embarrassing, and I couldn't tell him why I couldn't put it on silent because I didn't know how.
She answered all my silly questions with care, as if I were a child and she didn't want me to misunderstand. She sometimes acts like a big sister to me and worries unnecessarily for me, but I'm not going to complain because she's everything to me: a friend, a sister, and sometimes even a mother, the things I never had but always wanted.
Then all our friends came to the cafe, and Mia announced, "Finally, our alien friend got her phone!"
Everyone clapped as if I had won an award. They're really strange people, but I like them despite everything.
"So beautiful, can I have your number?" Benjamin, always ready to flirt, asked.
"Sure" I said smiling and Mia took my phone and taught me how to save numbers in my contact list. I remembered my number it was very easy and cool because it had every digit double, Alex brought a really expensive number and he said its something VVIP.
I gave my number to all my friends. Then Noah came and said, "Won't I get your number, Miss Alien?"
"Mrs.," Mia said to him. Noah gave her a look, and she returned it. They still have something going on between them, which I have a feeling isn't right.
To break the tension between them, I said, "Of course. Here." I gave him my phone so that he could save his number as well. I am still new to this phone thing.
"Wow, Sarah, you have such a cool number," Ethan said.
"Yes, Sarah, how did you manage to get it? Did you use your special alien powers?" Benjamin joked.
We all laughed, and Mia said, "No, stupid. Her husband got it for her." emphasising on husband which made me blush.
"Ohh, husband," Sophia cooed.
"When are we meeting you husband, Sarah?" Olivia asked.
"I don't know, maybe soon," I said. I wasn't sure if Alex would have time to meet my friends or even want to. What if he didn't like them? Or worse, what if they said something to upset him?
"Enough of all this stupidity," Noah said, frustrated. I think he's still mad at me and Alex.
We all looked at him, and he said, "Since Sarah got her phone, let's celebrate. Food and drinks are on me."
"Why are you paying for food and drinks, Noah? Sarah got her phone, not you, and you're not her husband, so why would you pay for it?" Benjamin asked, raising his brow.
Noah cleared his throat and said, "No,... but she's... a friend and I wanted to."
"No need, I'll pay," Mia said sternly, looking angrily at Noah.
"Actually, I'll pay, guys. It's my phone, so it's fair that I pay," I said in a low voice to stop them from fighting over silly things.
We all ate and drank so much at the cafe that my stomach hurt. Then my pocket started vibrating.
