Sarah's POV

"To fuck with Alex!" he shouted, and I flinched at the intensity of his voice.

He was angry, but why? I had just tried to surprise him. Was he mad because I hadn't wished him since the morning? But that's what Maa and Daniel told me to do, to make his evening more special, to surprise him and make him wait in anticipation.

I even wore the lingerie set that Maa recommended for his birthday. I had planned to tell him today that I love him and was ready to take the next step in our relationship.

"Alex, I'm sorry. I didn't forget your birthday. I just..."

"Shut up! I don't need your fake apologies," he snapped, his anger evident in his voice.

I dropped the cake this time, startled by his outburst. I was a mess of tears and confusion when Daniel came to Mia and said, "Get her out of here and make her change into anything but green."

"But..." Mia began to protest, but Alex cut her off. "She's not going anywhere," he declared, his voice filled with anger and his eyes red with tears and frustration.

He was angry with me, and I had never seen him like this before, not even when Emily tried to slap me or when that boy attempted to touch me. He was hurt and angry, but it was supposed to be a surprise. It's not like I had genuinely forgotten his birthday.

"Alex, I... I'm sorry. I didn't forget..." I stammered, my voice shaky.

He came close, grabbing my arm tightly from the elbow. His words were venomous, lacking the usual softness he held. "Tell me, since when were you with him?"

"What?" I asked, utterly confused.

"Tell me, since when have you been with that bastard behind my back?" he shouted, pushing me away.

"I... W-What?" I stammered, not understanding why he was angry and who he was talking about.

"Alex, what the hell are you talking about? She's not doing anything behind your back, and you know that," Mia interjected, defending me.

"Alex, let's go. You're not in your senses; you're having your anxiety attack again. Let's go, please," Daniel pleaded, attempting to guide Alex away. However, Alex pushed him away and walked back to me, gripping my arm tightly once more.

"Tell me, did you kiss him too, like you kiss me?" he spat, venom in his voice.

"Who?" I managed to say through my tears, shaking my head in denial. Whoever he was talking about, I would never even think of kissing anyone else but him.

"Who? Really? How many are there? How long has this been going on? Were you with them before our marriage? Are they the same, or did you shift to much better options after marriage?" His grip tightened on my arm, and I couldn't bear it.

What was he even talking about?

"Tell me!" he shouted again, and I couldn't take it anymore.

He held my face in his fingers, but it wasn't as gentle as usual. "Tell me, how many have you kissed with those sweet lips of yours? How many after me?" His voice softened, but his grip remained firm.

What the hell is he even talking about? Doesn't he know that he was my first everything-my hug, my kiss, my love? He is my everything.

"Alex, I didn't..." I tried to speak through my tears.

"Don't you dare lie to me about it," he said again in his angry voice.

"But I don't..." What has gotten into him?
