Sarah's POV

I went to Alex's office, as always, to get him to eat dinner, which he tries to avoid every day. But today, there was nobody in his office. I think he even sent Daniel back.

When I approached him, I felt his body was heated, and he had a high fever. But being stubborn, he didn't listen to me about resting or eating anything.

I had no other choice but to use the only person I knew who would be able to get him back to rest. I knew he would be mad for bringing his father, but that was my last option because he would not listen to me.

When Will entered his office and ordered him to go back home, he didn't fight him and came along with us.

When I entered the room, I saw he was already asleep. He needed this sleep, but he had a fever, and he didn't even take any medicine.

So I brought a bowl of cold water, soaked a towel in it, and kept it on his head. This will not let the fever reach his head and would lower his temperature a bit. I repeated the same action for 2 hours until his temperature was almost normal.

I went to the bathroom, changed, and went through my routine. Then I lay on my side to sleep. After a while, I heard some murmurs, and I thought maybe Alex was talking to someone on the phone, so I didn't bother. Then the bed started to feel like he was moving.

I opened my eyes and saw Alex was saying something in his sleep and shaking. I was so scared to see him like that. I tried to wake him by calling his name, but he didn't respond. He even had sweat on his forehead.

I then held his shoulders and called him loudly. "Alex! Alex! Wake up, it's just a bad dream."

He began breathing heavily, and I didn't know what to do. What is happening to him? Is he having a nightmare? What do I do? I moved closer to him, calling him again. "Alex, wake up. Please, you're scaring me."

He didn't open his eyes but said "S-S-Sarah?" in a very low voice between heavy breaths.

"Yes, Alex, it's me. Everything is okay; it's just a bad dream," I said, removing the sweat from his forehead with my hand.

His eyes were still closed, but he stopped moving, though he was breathing heavily.

He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer to him and hugging me. He took a deep breath like he was inhaling my scent to know that it was really me. I was now on top of him, with his face in the crook of my neck and mine in his.

"It was all my fault, Sarah. It was all my fault. Please don't leave me; I messed up," he said in a low voice in my neck. His breath sent shivers through my whole body, and these were good shivers, that I wanted to feel forever.

"I'm not leaving you, Alex." I did not move from there, not wanting him to wake up or have another nightmare. After a while, when his breathing and heartbeat came back to normal, I looked up at him and saw that his expression was now relaxed, and he was sleeping peacefully.

I relaxed, seeing he was okay.

I tried to get up and sleep on my side, but his hold on me was tight. I tried to get out of his hold but could not, nor did I want him to wake up when he was sleeping so peacefully.

I slept in his arms, my head resting on his chest and his arms around my waist, holding me close as if he were scared I wouldn't be there. It felt so good being near him, inhaling his scent of the forest and vanilla that brought me comfort every time.
