Training

Kaida didn't go to dinner last night. She didn't want to see anyone and no one saw her so she stayed in her room. She wanted to run, she wanted to go and find Jake, she knew where her childhood friend was. He was part of the First army and she was worried about him.

Dream...

Kaida was running on the streets of Ravka with Jake behind her. She just killed a lot of people by accident and people were following her. By the time she was 16. She was scared, she knew about her small science but this was the second time that she used it. Knowing that they would catch them, Kaida stopped abruptly.

"Jake, you need to get out of here. They are looking for me"she looked at her friend.

"What? No, I'm not leaving you" Jake said firmly.

"Listen, you have a sister, a mother and a father, you can stay here and let them trap you. I swear I'll write to you when I find a safe place, but you need to go" she said quickly.

"I don't want to leave you," he said sadly.

"I know, and I don't want to be alone again, but if you don't go, they'll kill you. '' She said, also sad "I love you, '' she said, pulling him into a hug.

"I love you too. Please text me when you are safe" he said, hugging her strongly.

"I'll do it" she gave him a small smile and started to run again.

She ended in the port running with a lot of Grisha in red kefta and guards after her but she didn't stop running. She looked back to check on her followers and because of that she hit something or someone. When she looked up she saw a really handsome boy with red hair, blue eyes and a nose that had been broken a couple of times and hadn't healed well.

"Hey beautiful," he said with a smile. Kaida looked back at her followers. The boy followed her eyes "I guess those are not good signals for you" he said with a mock.

"No, I have to go," Kaida said worriedly and scared.

"What's your name?" he asked.

"I don't have time to-'' she was cut when the stranger took her by the hip and pushed her against the wall of an alley with his hand on her mouth. Kaida started to complain.

"Shhh, they would hear us" he said in a whisper. When the boy looked at her his facial expression changed drastically. Kaida looked at him confused and frowned at him. "What the hell is he looking at?" Kaida asked herself.

Their eyes connected and for a few seconds it was just them until the screams and footsteps of the guards and Grisha passing by without even noticing them made them turn their heads.

"Get off me" she pushed him away. "Who the fuck are you?" She was mad.

"I'm Sturmhond and I just saved your life," he said with an egocentric smile. "What's your name, darling?"

"Kaida and I'm not your darling or anything" she said walking to the exit of the alley to lean out and make sure no one else was following her.

"Kaida'' he said in a whisper. He kept quiet for a long minute before he shook his head. "Why are you running?" he asked after staring at her for a few seconds. For a moment Kaida's shoulders tensed and she froze.

"None of your business" she said.

End of the dream.

Kaida woke up in the middle of the night, as usual the nightmare or memories didn't let her sleep. She wanted to continue sleeping but she knew that she wouldn't be able to do it again.
