Bastard!

Three days went through and nothing had changed between Kaida and Sturmhond, something that she really appreciated.

It was late at night when Kaida was reading one of the books Sturmhond had in his cabin when Jake entered the cabin.

"Hey" Kaida said, looking at him curiously. "What are you doing here?"

"Sturmhond asked me to call you. He thought you would be sleeping so he sent me so you wouldn't get scared," Jake explained.

"What time is it?" Kaida asked, closing the book.

"Coming in three bells," he answered.

"What does he want at this hour?" Kaida asked, confused standing up.

"I don't even know, he sent Tamar to wake up Alina and me to wake you up," Jake said, lifting his shoulders.

"Well, let's see what he wants," Kaida said walking out of the cabin. The air hitted her making small pieces of hair escape from her braid. "Dear Sturmhond. Where are we?" Kaida asked, approaching him.

"Fifteen miles off the coast of West Ravka, my darling," he said with a smile.

"What's happening?" Alina asked.

"We're going ashore,"Sturmhond said.

"In the middle of the night?" Jake asked, confused.

"The Volkvolny will raise my colors near the Fjerdan coast," said Sturmhond. "The Darkling doesn't need to know that you're back on Ravkan soil just yet."

"I agree with him. But I still don't know where we are going," Kaida said, crossing her arms over her chest.

Kaida saw Mal and Alina having a chat and then they kissed, making her roll her eyes.

"Can we get to the cuddling later? I want us ashore before dawn." Sturmhond said.

"You don't have anyone to cuddle with," Kaida said with a smile.

"I have you," Sturmhond answered also with a smile.

"On your dreams," Kaida responded.

"In my dreams we do something more than cuddling," he said. Kaida rolled her eyes but a small smile was on her face.

Kaida peered over the edge to see a small boat with a somewhat strange shape, but to tell the truth it looked familiar. Its two hulls looked like a pair of hollowed-out shoes, and they were held together by a deck with a giant hole in its center.

Kaida walked to the center of the platform next to Mal, Alina and Jake.

"What is this?" Alina asked.

"I called it the Hummingbird," Sturmhond said and Kaida's face lit up. "though I'm thinking of renaming her the Firebird."

"You made it work?" she asked, really excited.

"Did you doubt it?" Sturmhond asked with a smirk.

"That's amazing!" Kaida said really excited.

"I know, you don't have to say it," he said, happy to see her so excited. "Cut anchor and release!"

"This is going to be awesome," Kaida said, scanning the boat. The mast of this boat was shorter than the schooner, its double sails were huge, rectangular things, and required two crewmen each to maneuver them into position but in her eyes was the most beautiful thing in life, because she was going to fly.

Sturmhond called out, "Squallers!"

The Squallers raised their arms and wid started to blow around the boat. Sturmhond fixed the directions and asked for more speed.
