Kaida woke up in her bed, next to her, the bed was empty but still warm. She sat up on the bed and rested her head on the headboard of the bed. She was wearing her usual summer sleep goon, a lilac linen dress with straps and her hair tied up in a messy bun. Kaida brought her hands to her head and pulled the ribbon and untied the bun. She lightly massaged her head and put her hair to one side. The door of the bathroom flew open and she turned to see Nikolai walking out of it just wearing a towel around his hips.

"Good morning," Nikolai said with a smile and walking towards her to give her a small kiss.

"Good morning," Kaida said with a smile.

"Did you sleep well?"

"No, I always have nightmares"

"Yes, I slept really well. What about you?" Kaida asked, getting up from the bed and walking towards her closet to choose what to wear. Her closet was full of dresses, white, blue, pink, green... all the colors she could imagine she had a dress in that color.

She moved the dresses back and forth not knowing which one to wear until she chose two, one was green with a heart-shaped neckline decorated with small embroidery and a tulle skirt and the other one was red with gold details, the neckline was v-neckline not very pronounced and straps. The skirt had waves and the sides were decorated with a small tulle.

"The red," she heard Nikolai say.

"Are you sure?" Kaida asked, turning to look at him.

"Sure," Nikolai said, walking toward her already dressed. "I'll get the kids, we'll be in the garden," he said, hugging her from behind.

"Okay, I'll be right there," Kaida said with a smile. "Can you tell Genya to come? I love the way she does my hair,"

"Genya? You mean Sophi?" Nikolai looked at her with a frown.

"No, Genya Safin,"

"That, Sophi, sorry, I don't know why I said Genya," Kaida laughed.

"Okay, I'll tell her to come," Nikolai said with a smile. "I'll see you now," after that Nikolai left the room.

Kaida stared at herself in the mirror, she didn't know what exactly she was looking for but there was something strange about looking at herself in the mirror.

The sound of the door brought her out of her thoughts.

"Come in," through the door walked a girl no more than 20 years old with very fair skin, brown hair and brown eyes. She wore the typical uniform of a royal personal attendant and had a smile on her face.

"Good morning your highness," she said politely, bowing.

"Good morning Sophi," Kaida replied.

"The king has told me that you required my presence."

"Yes, please, could you fix my hair and help me get ready?" Sophi looked at her quizzically.

"What's wrong?" Kaida asked.

"Oh, nothing your highness," Sophi said, walking towards her.

Kaida sat in the chair in front of her dressing table and Sophi began to comb her hair, then carefully began to curl it, leaving her hair loose.

"Could you pull my hair back a little? Just the front part at least, I don't like to wear my hair down," Kaida said. Sophi looked at her again quizzically but said nothing and did as Kaida asked, grabbing the front of her hair back with a gold-colored bobby pin.
