Running away

The Darkling walked with a smile towards where he had left Kaida minutes ago, they had found the Stag and he couldn't be happier. He arrived at the garden to find out that Kaida wasn't there. With a frown and confusion he started walking to her room but as well she was nowhere to be found.

"Kaida?" he called. A cold wind entered the room and he turned his gaze to see the window was open. "Kaida! Kaida!"

"She is gone," Baghra said, walking out from the shadows.

"What?" The Darkling said with a threatening voice.

"She left, I told her all your lies and she left," Baghra said, enjoying the situation. "Also your sun summoner. They are both gone,"

"What did you do?" The Darkling said with fire in his eyes.

"What I had to do to stop you," she said.

"Ivan!" The Darkling screamed. "Emergency reunion, all the guards. NOW!"

The night was cold, really cold. Kaida was exhausted from running all the time, her legs were burning but she couldn't stop running. If she stopped then she would think about why she was outside the Palace freezing to death and she didn't want to think about it.

She was really tired, she just wanted to lay down on the snow and sleep but she knew that if she did that she would die.

She was still running, telling herself to keep running when she fell in the snow. She tried to get up but her legs didn't respond. She looked up at the blue sky, it was already coming out the sun. She didn't know how much time she spent running but she was really tired and the only thing she wanted was to go back where she was still friends with Nikolai and when they were still together. With the thought of Nikolai in her mind and the view of a beautiful winter sky Kaida closed her eyes.

Kaida was walking through the forest leading to the Grand Palace gardens with a smile on her face when she saw her favorite blonde hair lying on the grass.

When she reached his side she could see his relaxed features and heavy breathing, he was asleep.

Kaida smiled mischievously and began to shake him.

"Niko, Niko. Quick, quick, wake up your father has caught us!" Nikolai opened his eyes, startled and rushed up to look beside him checking that no one was there.

The frightened and startled face disappeared when he heard the incessant laughter of his 14-year-old friend behind him.

"You idiot, I almost had a heart attack!" Nikolai said in annoyance.

"You should have seen your face," Kaida said crying with laughter.

"Stop laughing, it's not funny," Nikolai said looking at her annoyed.

"Your face was great, whatever you say," the brown haired girl said, wiping her tears.

"You know what could happen if my parents really found out?" the blond said with concern.

"Niko, stop worrying," Kaida said, holding out her hands for Niko to help her up. Niko sighed in frustration and reached out his hands to help her up but instead, Kaida pulled on him and they both fell to the ground causing the girl to laugh again. Niko started laughing next to her and they both hugged each other with joy.

"Kaida, come on, get up," Niko said, looking at her already standing up. "Kaida, you need to get up and keep going. Come on, wake up, Kaida. Come on, Kaida, open your eyes. Open your eyes, you have to get up."
