Volpina Pt.2

We followed Hawkmoth as far as we could without drawing too much suspicion. "Ladybug you take the left and Chat Noir you take the right. Firebird come with me to take him from behind." 

Chat and I nodded before Ladybug spoke up, "No!" she interjected, "I'll go from behind with Firebird, Chat will take left, and you go right." Volpina laughed, "Okay, whatever. Makes no difference to me."

She then flew off leaving a pouting Ladybug, a confused cat and a cautious bird. Chat sighed, "Chill out, she's one of us now." He said as he jumped away. Ladybug groaned. "There is something off about her. I just know it."

I nodded, "I'm glad I'm not the only one." I say as I turn to her, "We'll have to be careful around her, okay?" She nodded and swung off, me not far behind.

We set off in pursuit of Hawkmoth, but every time we got close, he would disappear, then reappear a few buildings away. It was almost as if he was a mirage...

I grimaced when we lost track of him, "Where did he go?" I heard ladybug ask from behind me. I shrugged, "Not sure, but we need to keep our guard up. We don't know if he really left or not." She nodded and quickly took a fighting stance just in case.

We separated just a little that I lost track of her. "Ladybug?" I yell, but was only met with the whirring of machines starting. I turned around to see an arsenal of missiles pointed directly at me.  

"I wouldn't move if I were you." I heard Volpina's menacing voice from behind me. "Don't worry. I don't want to join you. I want to replace you and take apart Ladybug and Chat Noir." I clenched my teeth, "You wouldn't."

She laughed, "Watch me." She then reached down and started to unclasp my anklet, "No let's see who you really are." I felt her fingers brush my ankle before I jumped out of the way.

I didn't move when I watched the missiles come for me because as soon as it touched me, it disappeared into smoke.

I smirked, "Guess I was right." I said, "You're just a pack full of lies and deceit." 

Volpina grimaced, "We'll see about that when I turn Ladybug and even your precious Chat Noir against you. You will be taken down, and I will have my revenge."

I furrowed my brow in confusion, "revenge on what?" I ask, "I didn't do anything to you."

Volpina smirked, "You're right. You didn't. But Ladybug trusts you the most, and if I want to ruin her. I have to get to you first."

I took a cautious stance, ready to fight back at any given moment. "Well it won't be easy." I said. "Try your best."

I proceeded to use my dagger against her, but she vanished into smoke. I scoffed, "Coward." I said and set off to find Ladybug and Chat Noir.

As I ran I used my communicator to connect with Ladybug and Chat Noir. When they answered and confirmed that they weren't with Volpina, I began to explain the situation. "It's not real. That's her power. She was akumatized by Hawkmoth and uses the power of illusion to trick us."

Chat sighed, "But why would she be akumatized." I shrugged, "I don't know, but she attacked me saying she was going to use me to get to Ladybug." Ladybug sighed, "I think I know who's akumatized and I think it's my fault. I ruined her chances to get with a guy she likes." 

I tried not to laugh and Chat rose a brow, "Is it Lila?" He half whispered to himself before Ladybug spoke up again. "Oh, I see her. She's on her way to his house. I believe it's Adrien Agreste's. I'll send you the address."

As we hung up, my heart stopped. Volpina is after Adrien. 

Adrien is in danger.

Immediately I quickened my pace to get to Adrien's house a fast as possible, hoping I'll be able to stop her. I clenched my jaw as I ran faster and faster, not caring about what else is around me.
