Santa Claws
"Honey, did you finish setting up the tree? Our guests are going to be here soon!"
I just finished putting the star at the very top of the tree as my mother came down the stairs. "Oh that looks great! And the table and everything else has been set."
I jump off the ladder and wiped off the remaining dust from my pants, "Yes ma'am." I say with salute and a smile.
She smiles back, "Great, then as we do is wait."
I nodded but turned to the the decorated space knowing it was going to be filled with strangers dressed to the nines, and the only ones I wanted to be there won't be.
I fidget with my hands, "Are you sure they can't come. I could text them again?"
My mother shook her head solemnly, "I'm sorry, sweetie, but the Bourgeois are leaving tonight for their family trip, and Nathalie had told me, that they wanted to spend Christmas separate."
I looked down, "But Gabriel won't even show up for his own son." I mutter underneath my breath as I hear my mother sigh from beside me. "I know, it's hard, but Bruce's kids will be here later on. They were flying out yesterday, so they should be here anytime soon."
It was now my turn to shake my head, "No, Damian texted me earlier that they won't make it. Trouble in New York, but Bruce is still coming."
My mother gave me a soft smile and kissed the top my head, "Well there will be other kids your age, and I know you make friends easily. You'll be okay. Now, go get ready."
I sighed and headed up the stairs to my room.
I opened the door and shivered at the cold air. I hissed noticing the open window and hurriedly walked over to it to close the darn thing. Though, as soon as I did. I feel arms wrap around me.
Instinctively, I lunge out of their grasp and kick them hard in their mid section, sending them to the ground holding their groin in pain.
"Remind me to never sneak up on you, Princess." The figure groaned through the pain as I raised my brows in realization. "Kitty?" I say as I looked at his pained state, worriedly, "Oh my God, I'm so sorry."
Instantly I sank to my knees and helped him get comfortable. "What are you doing here, I thought you weren't able to come."
Plagg, who was munching on some cheese from the snack plate I brought Flaame chimed in as Adrien was still recovering from the pain, "His Old man was being a dunce and he couldn't take it anymore."
He suddenly flew closer to me, "You should've seen him, he was so moody and hated Christmas and all that. He had a whole musical number and everything."
I chuckle and look back down at Adrien, "Is that true?" I ask and Adrien slowly nodded, "I didn't know what came over me."
Plagg shrugged, "Me neither, but luckily he saw an ad of you and that got him out of his slump and get him here. By the way, where's sparkplug."
He was suddenly hit in the back of the head by Flaame, "I've been here the whole time idiot. Ready to chow down on my snacks before you came in and took it all."
Plagg shrugged and stuffed his face full once again as Flaame groaned and flew back to me, "Can we do something about him."
I roll my eyes, "C'mon, Flaame, let him eat, he only took the cheese, the crackers and cookies are still there."
Flaame shook her head, "Yeah, no, not risking it. You knows where his slobber ended up."
I chuckled and turned back to Adrien who seemed able to move without pain now, as he sat up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his head on my shoulder. Softly, I raised my hand to his hair and gently play with the locks.
