Into the Thick of It

"If we don't want an all-out war, we'll have to somehow infiltrate the Agreste manor somehow." I roll out a blueprint of the Agreste Manor as Adrien points out all the hidden corridors and entry points.

"The easiest way in is through here." He says, pointing to his dad's office, "There's an elevator that leads to all the other rooms, but having a chance to get in is the hard part." He then stands up, arms crossed as he looks across the table. "That's where you come in."

Damien sat on the other side of the kitchen counter halfway drinking his soda with his brows furrowed. "What the hell are you on?"

I groaned, "Did you not read any of the messages I sent you? You literally replied."

Damien shrugged as he sat back, "To be fair, I only replied with a thumbs up. Besides, I was also busy with things in New York."

I rolled my eyes, "Like what."

He took a sip of his soda, "Oh, I don't know. Like your mom being held hostage by a gang of criminals."

Both Adrien's and my eyes widened, "What!"

Damien slouched back into his chair, "Oh, yeah. That happened."

My jaw dropped, "And you didn't think to tell me."

"Father said not to give you needless worry since it  was settled within a day and the gang was wiped out within a week or so." He shrugged again, "I just had to help out since everyone else was busy. Anyway back to this."

He leaned over to look at the map, "You want me to infiltrate here?"

Adrien nodded, "I'll be able to disable the security, but it'll only be for 15 minutes so get in, recon, and get out as fast as you can."

I leaned against the table, "Once we pinpoint where exactly the miraculous and the guardian is being held we'll be able to rescue them with ease."

Damian nodded in understanding and we discussed how the plan would go. Chloe and I will distract Gabriel and Nathalie while we discuss a "party" that will be thrown and hope Adrien can go.

Adrien, who will be in his room at the time, will sneak out to the security room and disable the cameras and locks to the entrance.

Since Damian is recognizable by the Agreste staff, he will infiltrate as a delivery package dropped off by Luka.

Once in he'll navigate through the lair and pinpoint where the hostages are being kept and contact us through the headpiece.

Once we know where they are Adrien and I will sneak in and get them out safely.

Sounds easy enough, right?

Well, there's always an obstacle in the path to victory.

We all headed out to the rendezvous point to meet with Chloe and Luka before I ran into Marinette sitting solemnly on a bench by the park.

I sighed and turned to the two boys to go ahead without me. They continued to walk while I hung back and headed towards Marinette.

"Uh, hey Mari?" I say as I sat down beside her, "Everything okay?"

Marinette looked up and gave a sad smile, "Oh, yeah! Everything is great!"

I turned to her and opened my arms and she instantly took the opportunity, crying on my shoulder as she hugged me. "No, everything is not great. I'm so tired, Y/N. Of all these responsibilities and having to put up a front all the time."
