New Students

I lounged on the balcony chair, soaking in the sunlight as I heard Chloe speak from beside me, "So, this new guardian...is he cute?"

I pull down my sunglasses and turn my head to see her propped up to face me, eyebrows wiggling.

I sigh, "I just went through a breakup, and this is what we talked about?"

Chloe pouted, "You didn't answer my question."

I paused, staring at her hopeful gaze, and wondered what I thought of the mysterious boy.

He was intriguing, and kind, got my sense of humor. But was he cute?

I felt myself smile at the thought. Chloe squealed, "Oh, I knew it! From what I saw he was like your ideal type."

She then leaned closer with a suggestive smirk, "And the fact that he can pull off all those miraculous suits."

I chuckle to myself, "He did look good with the tiger miraculous."

Chloe laughed, "I bet he's a total catch underneath the mask too."

I raise a brow, "Are you trying to set me up? I just broke up with Adrien, remind you."

She scoffed, "Yeah, and that bozo is already making moves just a day after. You deserve to be happy too."

I looked down at my hand which adorned many rings, including Chloe's, but it felt bare without one.

Why did I have to fall in love?

I sighed, "Even if I did consider the new guardian, I don't just want to use him as a rebound."

Chloe smirked, "So you are considering it?"

I shake my head and turn back to my previous position, putting on my sunglasses once again.

The corners of my mouth raised just a bit, but that small movement sent Chloe into a frenzy. "Ahhh! You have to talk to him more! He's literally your dream boy."

"But the timing-"

She stood up, "Fuck timing and fuck Adrien, you are gonna live your best life with whomever you want."

I looked up to see her staring down at me with her hands on her hips. "C'mon ,where was that impulsive girl that dated a fricken hero without knowing their true identity."

Okay in retrospect that was a bad idea...

She leaned down, "A date wouldn't do any harm."

I groan, "You really are the devil on my shoulder, aren't you."

She scrunched her nose with a smile and walked back into her room, "I'll take that as a compliment."

I rolled my eyes and raised my arms to cradle the back of my head in my hands. My eyelids closed and instantly I saw images of the mysterious man.

A small smile appeared on my lips.

"Mademoiselle Chloe, your sister has arrived," Armand called from the door.

"Let her in!" I heard Chloe reply and her footsteps coming back to the lounge chair, I peeked from the corner of my eyes to see her putting her sunglasses back on, contorting her expression to what I would've seen a few months ago, stuck up and sour.

I heard another pair of footsteps shuffle in.

"So!" Chloe shirked, "You're Zoe." She stood up and walked around the other girl, "Blonde hair, blue eyes. Good, so far you're measuring up to the family standards."
