"Wes!" Gulat na sambit ng ate niya. Walang duda na kapatid niya dahil katulad nila Lecturer Kennedy ay kulay berde rin ang mga mata niya.
"Attorney Alextre, please have a seat." Aniya bago inasikaso sila Daddy.
"Stay here for awhile I will just talk to them. Or are you with them?" Tanong niya bago ako nginitian. Pansin na pansin talaga ang pagiging magkamukha namin ni daddy.
Tumango si Wes kahit na hindi naman bago siya naunang maupo sa harap ni Kuya Markus. I sat infront of Dad.
"About the case last time Attorney," daddy opened. Tumango ang babae bago tumayo.
Lumapit siya sa mesa at may dala na siyang files pagbalik niya sa harap namin. Binuklat iyon ni daddy at bumilog ang mga mata ko dahil sa nakita.
"Are you okay?" Tanong sa akin ni daddy. Nagkatinginan kami ni Wes bago nagdalawang isip kung sasabihin ba namin o hindi.
"Yes, dad."
"The men earlier," napalingon kaming lahat kay Wes. Gusto ko siyang batukan. Kumunot ang noo ng tatlong nakakatatanda bago ako tinignan ni daddy ng masama.
"We stayed in school late, we had a pageant practice." He said looking at his sister.
"Kuya and I planned to drop her off at her tower but those people are there." He went on.
"Bakit mo sinabi?" Mahinang bulong ko sa kaniya, ang usapan ay magpapaalam lang siya sa ate niya.
"For them to know the concept, they are lawyers, Maurice." He whispered too.
"Still, that should be a secret."
"Then what? In secrecy we would find you. . . nevermind."
"That will never happen."
"How are you so sure?" He raised an eyebrow. I inhaled sharply, I was about to stand when he stopped me before biting his lip tilting his head a little to the right.
Oh great! I forgot they are here.
"What's going on?" His sister asked, nasa lahi yata nila ang pagiging kalmado. Umiling ako habang nakangiti pero tinaasan ako ni daddy ng kilay kaya napaiwas na lang ako ng tingin.
"Lailani's men, right?" I asked him and he nodded. "And they are plotting Vaughn's death and so as mine." He nodded again. My heart clenched, he really knew but he is not doing anything.
"So you knew all along and yet you're doing nothing?" I asked triggering the tears forming on the corners of my eyes.
"Maurice."
"Ma'am Maurice."
"Who said I am not doing anything, kaya nga ako nandito ngayon." Sagot ni daddy na nakatitig sa mga mata ko. I smirked then a tear fell from my eyes.
"Hanggang dito lang po iyon? Ah yeah, you need evidences to prove your claims. How 'bout the CCTV footages in my room and in my towers? Manang Neri is at large."
"Excuse me, I have to talk to my daughter." Tumayo si daddy pero nanatili akong nakatingin sa files na nasa mesa. Pinahid ko ang luha ko. Nakakahiya ka na Maurice, kanina ka pa iyak nang iyak.
"Ma'am Maurice." Tawag sa akin ni Kuya Markus pero hindi ako bumago.
"If there is one person who needs to hear what you told me earlier, it is him. Stand now Maurice. Talk to your dad." Wes softly stated caressing my hair.
I bit my lower lip before following dad. Nakarating kami sa opisina niya pero wala ni isa man ang nagsasalita.
"Can you tell me now what happened?" He asked after we settled ourselves in the visitor's chairs.
